This concludes my alternative view of Edinburgh series as we drive back home again today. Pleasant weekend was spent, but with not a lot to do (partly because everyone else wanted to watch the rugby), I have had plenty of time to play!

The Volvo S90 was the last development of the 760 that started life in 1982. In 1990 the 740/760 were updated as 940/960 series. To bring these cars in line with the new naming system by Volvo they were renamed S90 in 1996. Two years later production of the last Volvo rear wheel driven car ended.

I always wanted one of these, and I'm glad I picked up one used a few years back before CCD camera prices started to go up.
It's a fun camera, especially if you want to play with the CHDK firmware extensions. The lens is a tad soft (that may be my copy, based on the wear it has lived a eventful life) but that's easy to correct in post.
Mine now has a piece of dust stuck somewhere in the lens/sensor path, which sometimes causing a dark blot against skies or other bright backgrounds. A common issue, apparently. When I get tired of cloning it out I might try taking it apart for cleaning. Maybe I'll even try an IR or full-spectrum conversion.

The S90's name did actually resemble the name of its father: the S90. The S90 back then (1996-1999) was also a top of the bill luxury saloon, that was also spaceous.
My LEGO model, again, wasn't the hardest to make, because of all the square shaping.

No plate match on this long wheelbase S90; a rare beast.
Unfortunately it had quite a bit of rust around the leading edge of the roof at the rear and along the sides, which is an unusual place for a car to corrode and probably difficult and expensive to fix.

With no registration plate visible it's difficult to say much more about this one. There is the usual question though - what might be lurking in that garage behind it?......
Treated myself to a new camera. This little P&S is fantastic. Shoots RAW and you can control everything. "The best camera is the one you always have with you"
The S90 is pocket size and packs a big punch. I'm tempted to start selling off the "expensive gear"
