Compared with the previous wider shot this subsequent detail view produced cooler shadows, probably due to a combination of the fading light and increased reciprocity failure. However I liked the resulting contrast against the warm tones of the foliage.

Le Havre, Normandy, France 0308/2022.

These are called gravity base foundations. These are concrete blocks each weighing 5,000 tonnes. They will be submerged off Fécamp (Seine-Maritime) to accommodate the offshore wind farms. In total, 71 concrete monsters built and parked in Le Havre for several months must leave the port area. Le Havre pilots have received 500 hours of specific training to enable this exceptional transport.

More amazing detail and tonality. This was in fact the first shot I took on 5x4, so nice to see that it worked (in the end)!

Totally thought this shot was ruined, since I misread the meter as indicating 4 seconds rather than 1/4"(!!), and so shot it at 11 seconds to take reciprocity into account. But it came out perfectly well, it seems, though obviously there's little to no detail in the sky.

Ironically, the second shot I took some minutes later, when I realised my error, isn't so great. I used much too much front rise (I went about 5mm over), so the shot has some vignetting; it's also not quite in focus, and the composition is different. But the exposure is a lot darker and more moody.

Yearning for summer holidays again: this image is a detail of the wonderful lichen-covered rock I found at Dunagoil Bay, Isle of Bute, Scotland, last August. Even though this is less than a quarter of the size of the original image (taking in Arran across the sea) the details are still great.

This was of course taken on large format with Velvia 50. Might well go back to revisit the location for more details to explore.
