A broken levee valve door lying in the sun for who knows how many years. The levees separate old evaporation ponds for the production of salt. Very little PS here.

So it wasn't the most photogenic day to see The Rock, by postcard standards. But it was pretty amazing to see it not-like-on-postcards, and more importantly, with waterfalls of rain falling down and the sound of drips and drops and gurgling creeks everywhere! There's a bunch of shots, I'm sure I'm sorry.

Imagine this whimsical spoon rest sitting on your counter or stove, which is shaped like a maple leaf, to place your cooking utensil in.
I took a maple leaf. and pressed it into a slab of clay then cut out the shape of the maple leaf. The edges were curled up to give the spoon or fork a place to rest. It has been high fired in an electric kiln with food safe glaze. Not only is it food safe but it is also dishwasher safe.

actually, it was a tourist-trap on route 66... was it Barstow? I don't remeber. But I liked the low sun and the yellow-rusty red colours
I brought home a box from work and tried to make a light box out of it, which would have worked just fine if I'd had the light for it. Alas, I am lacking in the strobe department, so I made do with what light I had to go after some details. Although a fairly boring photo, it at least represents a good hour's worth of playing with light.
