What a cool chalkboard. I'm sure "FUNKY" comes to mind when you look at it! This would look great in your kitchen, craft room or home office. Even better how about a child's playroom?
The frame measures 14" x 17".

Set in Southern France, the rustic café depicted in this garden has
played host to professional cyclists for more than 100 years. A
refreshment stop during training, the café sits on the route of the Tour
de France and serves as an important food station for riders and their
teams during the event. In the early days, competitors were allowed to
dash into the café and grab whatever they wanted, for free, before
getting back on their bicycles to continue the Tour.
For the rest of the year, the café garden provides a relaxing space to
sit and reflect among native olive trees (Olea europea), Holm oaks
(Quercus ilex), cork oaks (Quercus suber), strawberry trees (Arbutus
unedo) and Mediterranean cypress (Cupressus sempervirens). The
garden is the owner’s pride and joy and he takes every opportunity to

Rustic Overtones Today (yesterday but I'm a weirdo and needed the descriptions to match) in Portland, ME
My mother, flatteringly photographed emerging from the outside lavatory at 3 Mangotsfield Road, Mangotsfield, just outside Bristol. For those of you who know the area, the site is now a small triangular patch of grass, just opposite the Salutation Inn. I love these old pennant sandstone walls that you find throughout east Bristol and its hinterland, laid in small flattish slabs. I doubt whether they ever had mortar, and the flat stones were probably used for stability, because they had little vertical extent and were less inclined to topple.
I wonder whether the lavatory was connected to the drains. Nearby, at Pucklechurch, an "aunt" ...actually a work friend of my mother's... had an outdoor privy which consisted of a large container across which a "seat" had been laid. Really it was just a board with a hole cut in it. The container was emptied onto the garden ...which was fecund... every six months.
The bicycle was a Hercules. I should think the photo was taken during the war.
