Have a great week, my friends!

Just as iron rusts from disuse...

even so does inaction spoil the intellect.

Rural letter boxes are my theme for today. You see, I have a firm belief that people living in rural areas have far too much time on their hands, and this leads to time-wasting and the construction of frivolous letter boxes like the ones posted here today. You will see them along the highways and country roads all over Australia. This rusted tractor is a fine example of a job half done; not a drop of paint to be seen as it rusts way beside a country road. Mind you, a bush fires swept through a week earlier, everything was burned but the letter box.

Taken during the beginning of our sea trip. The port has a beautiful view of both the ocean and the mountains far inland. The platform apparently is not being used anymore, but is left there to be exposed to the elements.

RUST General Store is an 1860s inspired general store located within the Old Town San Diego, State Historic Park. The products are meant to reflect the history and culture of people living in, and the places trading with San Diego during the American/Transitional time period from 1846-1872.

San Diego old town is the historic heart of San Diego.

Created in 1769, Old Town San Diego marks the site of the first Spanish settlement on the U.S. West Coast and features 12 acres of Mexican heritage and historical sites, colorful shops, early-California-style restaurants, museums, a theater and the restored Cosmopolitan Hotel.

This is one of the few still lifes I have taken. I like how the rust easily flakes off the long bent spikes.

Road Trip See ya when I get back

Sometimes a rust bucket is just a rust bucket and not a car as we sometimes refer to junkers in America.

Everything created by me, well the tree was there in the ground :p I just snapped the picture :)

In Rust the slow violence of time into a visual storm. Layers of molten orange, scorched crimson, and shadow-black collide in a composition that feels both organic and industrial—like the corroding edge of memory itself.

At first glance, the piece radiates with energy, even aggression. But beneath the turbulence lies quiet entropy: the inevitability of decay, the poetry of wear. This is not destruction for spectacle, but transformation as a condition of being—where beauty oxidizes into something deeper, stranger, and unresolved.

Rust invites us to see erosion not as an end, but as a process. A process that stains, softens, and ultimately reveals what survives beneath the surface.
