Ruby Throated Hummingbird

The ruby-throated hummingbird is a species of hummingbird that generally spends the winter in Central America, Mexico, and Florida, and migrates to Canada and other parts of Eastern North America for the summer to breed. It is by far the most common hummingbird seen east of the Mississippi River in North America. Wikipedia

My favorite way to watch a sunset includes watching these little birds at the feeder.

Did a multi-flash shoot today on Hummingbirds, one of my favorite subjects and photography techniques. Archilochus colubris

So happy to finally get to see these INCREDIBLE beauties out in the wild! There were two of them. They hovered directly over my head multiple times over the hour I spent with them...The 8 ticks I picked up were worth it!

Female ruby-throated hummingbird

Took this shot at first light this morning. I was so excited to see the little guy. It's sitting on a decorative tomato cage that I put near the feeder. They love to sit on them.
