HMM- the macromondays' theme for today is "in a row". i have two possibilities-- these rows are just over inch and a half inch tall, so axiomatically this picture is almost 2 inches wide.
One of the most magnificent archaeological features on Dartmoor. This stone row with its massive terminal stone is seen from within the cairn circle sited at its end.
The ancient stone row stands on Hingston Hill, near Down Tor, about 2 Km from Burrator reservoir in Dartmoor National Park. The stones were restored from their fallen state in 1894. They probably date from neolithic or bronze age times and may have had a sacred religious significance.
The cairn circle is 11 metres in diameter. The terminal stone is about 3 metres high and the stome row is comprised of 157 standing stones stretching a distance of 349 metres.
My first idea for next macro monday before I've read the additional rule that I have to arrange the row by myself. So I used the photo for Sliders Sunday :-).
p.s. Happy Sliders Sunday to all flickr friends
Palms by the sea in the town Zaostrog, where we lived in Croatia :)
Zaostrog is a tourist town and harbor along the Adriatic Sea in southern Dalmatia, Croatia. It is located between Makarska and Ploče. Zaostrog was called "Ostrog" in the Middle Ages and was one of the larger towns of the Narentines. It consists of two parts, an older part below a steep limestone section of the Biokovo mountain range, and a newer coastal zone. The village is the location of the Franciscan monastery of St. Mary, which is more than 500 years old and has an open museum, ethnological collection, gallery and a large library with over 30,000 titles, a significant part of the older Croatian literature. Olive growing is prominent in the area.

W okolicy dominuje uprawa oliwek.
On a chilly morning in March of 2007, I saw this plant in our front yard.

"Leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or Mormons, sent parties from the Salt Lake Valley to find new settlements to support their expanding population.
"Mormon settlers from Idaho first arrived here [in the Moose, WY, area] in the 1890's. The U.S. Post Office named this community Grovont, now known as 'Mormon Row.'"

A row of disused and abandoned former workers´cottages on a road out of Villaviciosa.
Best seen large.
It's fair to say I became a little obsessed with this view a few weeks ago when I stumbled upon it on my way to a poppy location. The lines, the rolling slope, and the diminishing tree line all appealed to me. And then I realised that the compositions are literally endless. I was hooked!!
I took this shot last Saturday afternoon when the moody, contrasty sky was a perfect counterpoint to the smooth, simple lines of the barley.
The beautiful cottages of Arlington Row in the Cotswolds located in the village of Bibury.

Arlington Row at Arlington in the parish of Bibury, Gloucestershire, England was built in the late 14th century as a wool store and converted into weavers' houses in the late 17th century. It is a Grade I listed building, owned by the National Trust.
Arlington Row on Awkward Hill is a nationally notable architectural conservation area depicted on the inside cover of all United Kingdom passports.[3] It is a popular visitor attraction,[4] reportedly one of the most photographed Cotswold scenes.
The cottages were built in 1380 as a monastic wool store.[6] This was converted into a row of cottages for weavers in the late 17th century, with some late 17th- or early 18th-century additions.
The cloth produced there was hung out on racks to dry on The Rack Isle opposite, before being sent on to Arlington Mill for degreasing.
Yesterday, we ventured to visit the highest point in South England, which also happens to be the highest peak on Dartmoor. Our hike started at Row Tor, close to Okehampton. While the early morning was still overcast, we had some stunning views once we arrived at High Willhays. A beautifully remote part of Dartmoor!

Located in Grand Teton National Park, Mormon Row Historic District is a farm community of 27 rustic farms, barns, and houses built in the 1890s by Mormon settlers. Homesteader John Moulton built this iconic barn, which is probably the most photographed structure.
