A scene played out in many cities throughout Morocco. People so poor they have to scour rubbish bins for supplies.

Driving Route 66
This is part of the abandoned north lane of Route 66, somewhere between Tulsa and Bristow.
I traveled Route 66 between the Kansas/Oklahoma state line and Oklahoma City. Equipped with a 1961 Road Map and a GPS, i am trying to find the remains of old Route 66

Another beautiful morning for a Trikke Ride! But it will get a bit toasty in an hour or two!

Myrtle Road, Ipswich
I live on cycle route 51, and the mile or so that I do along it several times a day is the journey that I know best in the world.
It is a dramatic journey. Between my house and the centre of Ipswich the route goes through rolling Holywells Park, the most beautiful of all the Ipswich parks. It also goes through the middle of the Ipswich Docklands regeneration, the biggest building site in the east of England.
I began to think that the route marker signs, if taken in conjunction with their immediate surroundings, might tell a story about the route, and about my daily journeys.
Oct. 21, 2021: Route 66 El Trovatore Motel in Kingman, Arizona. Developer John F. Miller from 1937-40, built the motel, gas station, and cafe. Celebrities staying at the motel included Jeff Chandler, Charles Bronson, Jane Russell, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable, and Don Knotts. Unfortunately, in later years, the motel fell into disrepair.
But about a decade ago, the rundown property was closed and facing foreclosure. Sam and Monica Frisher took over the motel in 2012 and renovated it - twenty rooms became Hollywood-themed rooms. In addition, workers repaired old signs and murals. Painters added new murals. A 206-foot Route 66 map decorates one side of the main motel building.
