A small slot canyon along the Escalante Route, Grand Canyon National Park. The Escalante Route is an unmaintained trail that connects the New Hance Trail to the Tanner Trail. The trail is renowned as being one of the most beautiful trails not only in the park but also the country (backpacker magazine rated it the #2 trail in the country, behind the John Muir Trail of California). The trail begins at the terminus of the New Hance Trail, at the Hance Rapids, and heads east, quickly climbing a very steep landslide to beautiful views above the river. The trail narrows, and eventually begins twisting through several small slot canyons (one of which is shown here). Eventually, the trail climbs several thousand feet above the river, with amazing views of the canyon, until descending to Tanner Beach following the Unkar Cliffs.
To give some scale to the shot, the boulder in the canyon is massive, and the drop beneath it was too big to make without ropes. We had to climb up and around to get past the obstruction.

Route 1 is the ring road which goes around iceland. Using the road is a classical use of a leading line. I like, how it pulls the eye to the right. It gives an aditionally dynamic to the look into the wide from foreground to background.

A Route 66 store sign in San Francisco, California. The famous route goes nowhere near the area, but there is a clothing brand and stores using the name.
Double Bridge Over Colorado River, Grand Canyon National Park[
Navajo Bridge is the name of twin steel spandrel arch bridges that cross the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon National Park in northern Coconino County, Arizona, United States. The newer of the two spans carries vehicular traffic on U.S. Route 89A over Marble Canyon between Bitter Springs and Jacob Lake, allowing travel into a remote Arizona Strip region north of the Colorado River including the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park.
The bridge was officially named the Grand Canyon Bridge when it was dedicated on June 14–15, 1929. The state legislature changed the name to Navajo Bridge five years later in 1934. The original bridge was closed to vehicular traffic after the new span opened in 1995. The old span is still open for pedestrian and equestrian use.

Day 4 "Haute Route" trek.
We made our way on a lofty traverse via the Sentier des Chamois to the Col du Termin.
We then continued to the rocky Col de Louvie and traversed below the Grand Desert Glacier where we passed a series of small tarns before ascending once more to the Col de Prafleuri and descending
steeply to the Cabane de Prafleuri.
My son and I undertook one of the most challenging treks, the Haute Route.
It was a rigorous 10 day trek from the Chamonix Valley in France to Zermatt in Switzerland, 180 kilometers, 11 high mountain cols with approx. 12,000 meters of ascent.
This is a tougher trek than the Tour du Mont Blanc.
Trek Grade 4: Demanding, an excellent level of fitness and stamina required for big mountain days with continued and substantial height gain and descent of over + or -1500m per day plus sustained trekking over distance for 10 days.
I'm ready for another trek, I love the mountains so much. 💗
The historic Mother Road or Main Street of America runs 2,451 miles (3,945 km) from Chicago to Santa Monica. We have seen a renewed interest in traveling the route as pilgrims come from all over the world. This past weekend Springfield, Mo hosted the first Route 66 Festival.
Route 89 Arizona, up early for the sunrise and took advantage of the setting moon. Lake Powell was at my back.
