U.S. Route 93 is a major north–south United States highway in the western United States. At the request of the Arizona State Highway Department, the AASHO route numbering committee approved another extension of US 93 in 1935. This shifted the southern terminus south to Kingman, Arizona, by way of Las Vegas.
Beautiful dawn light illuminates the heather at Ramshaw Rocks. I had been out in the dark here waiting for the sun to rise, but a bank of cloud on the Eastern horizon stopped the dawn lightshow. However, as I began the walk up to the higher set of rocks the sun came above the clouds and briefly lit the whole scene in "golden" light. It didn't last long, but I managed to get a few frames before it disappeared again.
Laid out in 1857, Gilson was on the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Rail Road in the days when the engines burned wood. By the time engines burned coal, the local timber had been pretty much decimated. Gilson Illinois.
One of the most scenic routes in the UK. I love going to Glen Coe, even if only for a couple of hours. It is beautiful at any time of year and it is so varied, you get to see what makes Scotland truly unique and wonderful
One of the most photographed sections of the route to Mt Owen, the highest mountain in Kahurangi National Park, New Zealand. Would be very slippery in the rain.

This route is the main gateway to the Jotunheimen National Park - Norway's highest mountains.

U.S. Route 89 is a north–south United States Numbered Highway with two sections, and one former section. The southern section runs for 1,365 km from Flagstaff, Arizona, to the southern entrance of Yellowstone National Park. National Geographic named US Route 89 the No. 1 Driver's Drive in the world.
A hazy September day finds four 40-series EMD’s leading a train past the yard in Reading, Pennsylvania. The train’s routing through town instead of on the Belt Line indicates that there are probably setouts or pickups in Reading.
