It was a bit windy and cold up there. I managed to take this shot just before I walked downhill from the Wilson Trail.

This photo is of my Paul Reed Smith CE24 affectionately named, Lola. PRS guitars are said to have curves similar to that of a woman and I wanted to show those curves. I like the way the light accentuates the rounded lines of the volume and tone controls and the knobs themselves (the centerpiece) have the look of a glass filled with scotch or cognac. The shot was taken with a single light modifier about 3" above the subject and 1" away from it. All the other lights in the room were turned off. I made the decision to shoot at ISO 100 to retain as much quality as possible (thanks, John Greengo). Becuase of this, I had to use a long shutter speed of 10 seconds. Additionally, I purposely underexposed the shot one stop so I could really bring out the shadows in post. After learning more about using a reflector to bounce light onto a subject, I would have definitely done that to bring out more detail on the bridge of the guitar. I would have also cleaned the guitar before shooting it!
Round bale, crops and straw at the harvesting show of Dreschfest (thresh feast) 2010 in Heidmühlen, district Segeberg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
It was the 5th thresh feast organised by the Dreschvereinigung Heidmühlen (threshing association of Heidmühlen).
About 200 historical tractors, agricultural machines and tools as well as some modern machinery were presented at the Dreschfest. You could watch some of them in real action, for example at hay harvest, reaping, threshing, potato harvest or tobacco harvest.

A wide-angle photo of the public amphitheater and greenspace at The Round on a sunny day. The MAX station and Beaverton Building are visible in the background.
The museum wasn't open today when I visited, so I braved the cobwebs and took pics through the glass.

I put the spirit level away, forgot about adverse camber and spent a couple of hours watching and listening to this train go round in circles while drinking herbal tea.
Anton Kratochvil designed and built about 20 round houses in Racine between 1939 and 1969. He decided the answer to America's housing problem was a house that was more efficient to build, heat and maintain. When he was living in one of them he had to whitewash the windows because he got tired of the architectural peeping toms!
