I don't see it as tragic. In it's death, the apple has given life to other beings. It's giving back to the Earth what it was made from. And when an apple rots, nutrients from it are used by other plants. And the seeds from inside will grow into new apple trees, producing food for future generations of animals. The circle of life. Beautiful.
