I 'dead-headed' a few roses this morning and couldn't resist bringing some indoors to give my black back-ground/reflections treatment !
The rose is a fav of mine called Hot Chocolate - which I think may be in ref to its scent .
An extra lovely thing about roses is that they usually change colour subtly as they fade and die, and like tulips, they seem to be photogenic at any stage I'm happy to say..... God's wonderful creation!

I saw this beautiful Ketchup & Mustard Rose today at the Municipal Rose Garden in San Jose, California.

Happiness : walking through the ROSE GARDEN of THABOR , and taking a lot of pictures.......
it is a delight to the senses - the smell of the roses was unbelievable and the colours of the Dahlias are lovely. There is also an interesting Botanic Garden arranged in concentric circles including at a guess around 1000 different plants, all labeled, surrounding a fountain.
Park of 10 ha superficies. In 1610 it is a garden belonging to Saint Melaine Abbey. At the end of the 18th century, it becomes a public promenade, reserved to men. Denis Bühler extended and re-plans it in the second half of the 19th century. The southern part was to be accomplished in the early 20th century.
Thabor Park contains a botanic garden with 3122 taxons, remarkable trees, an aviary and a band stand.
The floral circuit changes with the seasons : bulb flowers, biennials, camellias, later the roses, beds of annuals, the dahlia and chrysanthemum collections.
