I have just been to the funeral of my next door neighbour and her sons asked people to take some of the roses.

She had a fall some months ago which meant that she could no longer live on her own. However, she was ninety-seven and had done very well.

Rose petals waiting to unfold

Sometimes something just catches your eye and you just have to play around photographing it. So it was with the remnants of a rose that I'd had in my kitchen. I was about to throw it away when the wilting heart of it called to me and out came my camera.

This may not be to everyone's taste but I really like the other worldliness of the image and so it finds a place on my photo stream for no other reason than I love it!
