On those rare sunny Scottish days the only thing to do is sunbathe.

This scene felt very Russian to me, so I added a Vodka glass:-) The tower is called a rook in chess.
Rook (Corvus frugilegus) standing amongst fallen leaves. Arrival of huge flocks of rooks from east and north marks the start of autumn.
Gawron (Corvus frugilegus) stojący pośród opadłych liści. Przybycie ogromnych stad gawronów ze wschodu i północy zwiastuje początek jesieni.

In all my years of bird photography I have hardly ever photographed a Rook and I have never posted an image of one to Flickr before. I dont know why, I rather like them.
Couldn't resist this shot just sat there staring at me

A different day and return trip to Slimbridge in Gloucestershire.
The Rook is a member of the crow family. Rooks are very sociable birds and you're not likely to see one on its own and there is a large Rookery at Slimbridge.

Series of six. A quiet walk around the reservoir today in very grey conditions. One of the highlights was a family of Rooks. My favourite crow, they always seem to be doing something, never boring. This was one of those lucky shots you cannot plan for!
