Our little grandson is a BAMA baby all the way- at this point, anyway, with parents who are major fans! He's SO cute in his Crimson Tide jersey!

Sure hope that BAMA rolls over the Ole Miss Rebels today!

Happy Birthday to my sister, Tammy!

(Mom had emergency surgery for a kidney stone last night so I have been at the hospital til 5 AM this morning. I may be incoherent for a while. She is doing well.)

Earlier this year I was commisioned by ESPN the Magazine to travel to Tuscaloosa, AL to photograph Jack Blankenship, AKA, the Alabama Face Guy. This is the guy who holds up the giant cardboard face of himself at all of the Alabama basketball home games.

See more pics and read more about this guy and why he makes this face on my blog....

It was a frightfully freakish Iron Bowl, but the Tide rose to the occasion! The University of Alabama defeated Auburn University today! Nerve-wracking!

Here's our little tabletop BAMA tree! ROLL TIDE! SEC Champs!

Alabama running back Derrick Henry will have to wait until Saturday to find out whether he's going to win the Heisman Trophy, but on Wednesday he took home some other hardware.

The SEC announced the winners of its 2015 awards, and Henry was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Year, as voted on by the league's coaches.

Henry's Crimson Tide teammate, linebacker Reggie Ragland, was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year, and together they were two of four Alabama players to receive awards.

My nephew graduated with Reggie and they are good friends, so it is always exciting to see and cheer for him!

I really love the singer/songwriter Tanerélle. Her voice, her lyrics... *sigh*. They're just so good. And it sure doesn't hurt that she's as beautiful as she is. Like a tall, statuesque goddess. And I love that she leans into it, too. Stylistically, lyrically, attitude-wise. She knows what she's got. And she also knows it makes her no better than anyone else, and does not place her beyond the ability to have her heart obliterated, or to realize her advantages at a later point than others. She did this song/video for the YouTube channel A Colors Show, about a month ago. I just saw it the other day, and as usual, I'm all about it. The folks at that channel really take color stories so seriously and I love it. The background color and styling they chose for Tanerelle suits her and this song so well.

It's a slow climb, roll tide

You'll start feel it when there's no time left

There's no foresight, your mind

Is all you're given, so please, hold tight, yes

And if someone had told me it'd take this long

Who knows if I'd have held on

Guess the hope of tomorrow is never wrong

And I knew that all along

Thank God, I looked forward to better days

(Ooh, oh)

(Ooh, oh)

(Ooh, oh)

Thank God, I looked forward to better days

It's a rat race, no grace

You'll start to feel it when it's too late, yes

Keep a slow pace, show face

I know you'll make it 'cause it's pure fate, yes

And if someone had told me it'd take this long

Who knows if I'd have held on

Guess the hope of tomorrow is never wrong

And I knew that all along

Thank God, I looked forward to better days

(Ooh, oh)
