I was not at the National Championship game tonight, I could not afford the scalping prices of $5,000 and higher

At the Newark Sierra Paperboard Plant - this long corridor is only described as "Roll Pit #1" on official schematic. Though in the middle of demolition, it's easy to get a sense of the scale of this space, the sheer amount of 2x4s lying on the floor indicates the amont of roof space required to shelter this area, which ostensibly stored the rollers that flattened pulp for use as paperboard on everything from board games to cereal boxes and book jackets.

Also from the old Calsan website archived on web.archive.org before becoming inaccessible again. The 90's Calsan roll-offs and storage box color scheme is nearly the same as the 80's version except for two things. The green stripe is shifted one unit to the right, and the Calsan logo (Which appears to be from the commercial bin sticker design from the 80's, except a recycle symbol is placed on the bin part of the logo design) replaces the letter and phone number text info of the company. The logo is placed at the center, or the top-center of the roll-off. The logo is also placed at the center of the storage boxes. As of 2009, these containers are all spray painted by CalMet.

My first attempt to roll the kayak was on August 18, 2013.

Today I was able to roll the kayak for the first time.

The effort was worth it!

The paradox is that by the time the first roll occurs, there have been numerous attempts that result in many successful self-rescue's.

Todays first roll was not the result of trying to do a roll, it was the result of only a few minutes practicing the "hip flick".

That is the 'secret' ... that is the shortcut ... that is the magic.

Practice the hip flick and you will roll!

Even better it was really windy with an abundance of strong waves.

The bright yellow suit with black is the drysuit purchased from Mountain Equipment Co-op in Montreal.

It is the Kokatat GMER. It features a front entry zipper and a front relief zipper for the gentlemen.

The ladies version also has a front entry zipper and it is available with a rear relief zipper.

They are handmade in Arcata, California.

I paid $1030.00 tax in. Today's session proved it to be worth every dollar and then some.

The water temperature was 15C/59F. I wore polyester/spandex underneath with cotton and wool socks. Nice and warm. No cramps from cold water!

I was in the water a lot this afternoon and this suit performed flawlessly.

posting yesterday’s shot gave me a longing for summer – macro photography and bughunts!

hope everyone is having a great weekend

Some shots from Christine and my 4th "couples roll". I started this roll by shooting on a roll of expired 800 ISO film on my Ricoh R1, then handing it off to Christine to shoot on top of.

These random double exposures are the result.

* I made these roll pillows for our living room using an old bed sheet, curtain fabric samples and foam.

They measure 40 cm.

* Ik heb deze rolkussens voor onze woonkamer gemaakt van een oud laken, gordijnstofstaaltjes en schuimrubber.

Ze zijn 40 cm lang.

So fed up with miserable cold weather, I thought I'd cheer myself up with something that reminds me of Summer.

A Christmas pressie for my brother-in-law who travels a lot. My first attempt at making a toothbrush/toothpaste travel roll. I will modify it if I make another. Lovely mirror ball dots for the binding!

I bought the wrong size rice paper (too small), so the rolling was a bit difficult. But the taste is always nice. The simplest of ingredients rolled together for a low calorie, low fat snack. This time I used rice noodles, lean pork, shrimp, lettuce, carrot, scallion and chives

A simple swiss roll with nutella spread as filling.

Accidental FatMandy/LauraMary collaborative double exposure.

(Laurs & I have different opinions about whether to wind on a film immediately after shooting or immediately before. She is wrong.)

This was the first roll that I put through the TLR that I picked up on the cheap via eBay.

On first viewing, the thumbnails are quite promising, but a not-so-close look quickly reveals my hopeless inability to operate the focus mechanism.

Lesson learnt.

Bring on film two!

"Yo, Rock & Roll, how's work going on the RAM?"

"Righteous, Stalker. I corralled a few more ponies, need to reload the cannon, then we're ready for another strike on Cobra!"

G.I. Joe Day is officially sanctioned by Hasbro on February 1st, but some sources purport that the world's first Action Figure was released to market on Feb. 2, 1964. The 3 3/4" versions don't have swappable uniforms like the 12" originals, but a recent release by the Black Major offers a nice alternate look for Rock & Roll that reminds me of his preproduction design from the 1997 Stars and Stripes set. And lacking a wicked garage setup like DreadnokDread, I had to pull out one of the old JoeDios backdrops!

Lilah rolled over for the first time on her 3 month birthday....now I can't keep her on her tummy. She's got strong chubby legs to push her over, and it may help her being so round to roll over! It's hard watching her grow so fast, happy for her, but a but hard for me...
