Just a bit of messing about.

Here we are in lockdown again. ' However am I going to get my Christmas shopping done' thought Granny Bear. 'I know, this year I can knit a gift for all of my family'. Granny Bear sat back in her rocking chair, needles clicking, and dreamed of a white Christmas sitting by her fireside.

I put a red 25 filter over my lens today. Restyle with "Black and Cornsilk Grey", normal mode blending at 70%, gives tones reminiscent of a 19th century print.

Why a filter?

This filter reduces noise in black areas. This one was processed at +2.0 eV and the ceiling looks grainy, rather than speckled.

So, technically the Pina is a "toddler" since she toddles around and never ever crawls, right? But NO.. she's not even quite 10 months, she can't, she's not allowed to. She's my baby and she needs to keep being a baby and not this little person that walks around the house dancing and calling out momma and knocking on doors and hugging dolls and stuffed animals and screaming and snatching things from her sister.

Yah, it's too much. She's growing too fast.

She has a few words including her sister's name, Mom, Dada. She copies just about everything we do. Favorite things to do. Walk around the house with towels over her head, you know, because walking at 9 months isn't enough. Fine and all until she walks into things. Seems to understand what goes where and how. Socks, she tries to put them on her feet, hairbrushes, hair scrunches go to the head.

Prompt: A living room scene with an elderly couple sitting in rocking chairs, reading the newspaper. The man is wearing a blue shirt, suspenders, and has white hair, while the woman is dressed in a yellow dress. A white west highland terrier is lying on the floor in front of them. There is a glow from the fireplace. The background includes wooden walls and a window with brown curtains. The image has a comforting atmosphere, realistic,

I found this image in my archives. It was taken on on a warm summer afternoon in the countryside of Livingston County, Illinois. It's a lovely little house in the country and there is an old barn on this property that was built in the late 1800s. This charming little porch with the rocking chairs brings a quiet peaceful mood to my mind ... and looks like a wonderful place to relax after all the days chores are done. Now that it's getting cold here, I am already reminiscing about the lazy hazy summer daze. Thank you to all for visiting and for your comments :)

another furniture piece that didn't make it into the dk book "the lego ideas book". a bit too chunky for my tastes, but i sent it in anyway. i was supposed to be giving ideas to 6-9 y.o.'s and i found it very difficult.

Sometimes life gets so busy that we forget what is really important. Every so often I have to go to a quiet place and reflect on all the ways I am so blessed. Top on the list are my family and friends...those present in my life today, but also those treasured memories from the past.

To be honest, most of the time this chair sits empty... sigh

2B-Lesson 2: From a series of shots with the aperture ranging from 1.8 to 5.0 - also trying to get that hazy, soft look that Kim uses in many of her images. Something's not quite right here - I'll keep trying.
