Spanish Rocking Chair

Looks like someone is off their rocker!

Perfect spot to catch some rays.

I found this image in my archives. It was taken on on a warm summer afternoon in the countryside of Livingston County, Illinois. It's a lovely little house in the country and there is an old barn on this property that was built in the late 1800s. This charming little porch with the rocking chairs brings a quiet peaceful mood to my mind ... and looks like a wonderful place to relax after all the days chores are done. Now that it's getting cold here, I am already reminiscing about the lazy hazy summer daze. Thank you to all for visiting and for your comments :)

another furniture piece that didn't make it into the dk book "the lego ideas book". a bit too chunky for my tastes, but i sent it in anyway. i was supposed to be giving ideas to 6-9 y.o.'s and i found it very difficult.

Sometimes life gets so busy that we forget what is really important. Every so often I have to go to a quiet place and reflect on all the ways I am so blessed. Top on the list are my family and friends...those present in my life today, but also those treasured memories from the past.

To be honest, most of the time this chair sits empty... sigh

2B-Lesson 2: From a series of shots with the aperture ranging from 1.8 to 5.0 - also trying to get that hazy, soft look that Kim uses in many of her images. Something's not quite right here - I'll keep trying.

Thus when I come to shape here at this table between my hands the story of my life and set it before you as a complete thing, I have to recall things gone far, gone deep, sunk into this life or that and become part of it; dreams, too, things surrounding me, and the inmates, those old half-articulate ghosts who keep up their hauntings by day and night ... shadows of people one might have been; unborn selves.

Another joint effort. This one needed a good clean and wax and some tidying up before handing back to the boss for the cane work. There were some unfinished repairs and a rough area of wear on top that just needed finishing but otherwise it was a good, solid chair.

I have those fabulous little rocking chair in my girls' room. I love its delightful pink and peeling paint.

The window is made from the perforated front of a greetings card sent by friends in China, to which I have added stained 'glass'. The rocking chair is one of my favourite playmobil designs.

If this were my house, I don't think any two seats would be the same! LOL

These rocking chairs look out over the river at the Chattanooga Aquarium. It's a beautiful view.

The ingenuity & creativity of the locals (undoubtedly, a farmer) was impressive.

Who'd have thought of using worn, heavy chains, to make a functional rocking chair and side table? (I tried it, it rocked :-) )

I made these bookcases as part of a scheme for another room, but until that is finished I am trying them out in here for fun.
