A just-in-case memoir. Who knows, the chances are considerable of it being merged with lava or destroyed by quake in the very foreseeable future. It is sitting right between the Eurasian and North American plates that are drifting apart this very minute, causing hundreds of quakes at the moment of this writing. This long exposure is shot in the middle of the night, if you look closely you can see the starry sky in the background.
Shot with Canon EOS 5DsR + Sigma 50/1.4 Art.

Suggest you view this Large On Black to appreciate the textures etc.
This was taken at my 3rd outing to Forresters Beach. Went there at dawn with the old man. Sky started off pretty clear and boring, but then a storm came over head and we were treated to some incredibly dramatic stormy sky.
The rock shelf at Forresters beach is gorgeous. Beautiful green rocks with lovely textures and very angular slabs. As the waves break over the rock you get some mini water falls occuring over the slabs.
Gorgeous location, probably my favorite rock shelf yet.

Last night was so great! My family was all together and we shared a great evening. Let's just say cookie dough, Cafe Rio, and Rock Band were involved. I couldn't think of a better way to pass an evening.
PS - I have too many issues for my critique but am working on acceptance and moving on.
The pacific northwest part of the US once was a very active volcanic region. Many of the landscapes I've posted were in some way created or altered by that activity. (Beacon Rock State Park Area DSC_6691.jpg)
Something I never thought I would see on the Mississippi Delta Railroad, wind mill trains... And my FIRST wind mill train at that. But here we are in 2023, a few years after Rock Island Rail took over operations, and these guys have turned it into a completely different railroad.
It's Friday Morning July 7th, 2023 and Rock Island Rail is taking one of several wind mill trains from the Canadian National interchange at Swan Lake up to Vestas Transload Terminal in Clarksdale, MS. This train being all wind mill towers.
Former BNSF SD38P, (now Rock Island) #1555 lead the first part of the journey from Swan Lake to Sumner, from there Rock Island GP38 #4373 was added to take the train the rest of the way to Clarksdale.
Here the train is seen passing through Webb, MS.
As of 2025, Rock Island Rail no longer operates the Mississippi Delta Railroad.
