The heart shaped rock is my favorite found rock. It feels like silk when rubbed. I found it on a rocky beach in Oregon.Don't think I will ever find another as special as this rock.

Marble is a metamorphic rock that forms when limestone is subjected to the heat and pressure of metamorphism.
Suggest you view this Large On Black to appreciate the textures etc.
This was taken at my 3rd outing to Forresters Beach. Went there at dawn with the old man. Sky started off pretty clear and boring, but then a storm came over head and we were treated to some incredibly dramatic stormy sky.
The rock shelf at Forresters beach is gorgeous. Beautiful green rocks with lovely textures and very angular slabs. As the waves break over the rock you get some mini water falls occuring over the slabs.
Gorgeous location, probably my favorite rock shelf yet.

Great fall colors in Washington DC's Rock Creek Park last month. This shot is taken with the steam meandering through the large boulders towards Rapids Bridge.

Last night was so great! My family was all together and we shared a great evening. Let's just say cookie dough, Cafe Rio, and Rock Band were involved. I couldn't think of a better way to pass an evening.
PS - I have too many issues for my critique but am working on acceptance and moving on.

- www.kevin-palmer.com - Sometimes when storm chasing, I can drive many miles without finding an interesting foreground for the stormy skies above. But there are also certain places that I will return every year if there is any chance of interesting weather nearby. The Nebraska Panhandle is always high on the list. Chimney Rock was an important landmark for pioneers on the Oregon Trail. After about a month into the journey, the sight of it meant the easy flat terrain of the prairies would be coming to an end. The elevation was increasing and the Rocky Mountains would soon be visible. Severe storms like this one would have been a frightening view. With little shelter available, the large hail, lightning, and flooding often proved deadly for travelers in the mid 1800’s. It was a lot different for me being in a hard-sided vehicle, knowing I can flee out of the path at any time. This storm formed fairly early in the afternoon, and didn’t last as long as expected. But I was fortunate to be there at the right time and place to catch this picture.
