This is part of my Weird Science photo class final. They are stereoscopes, which are 3D images. You need special glasses or need to know how to free view 3D, which I am happy to say I learned how to do.
The concept for the project is that man will not be the ones exploring space, but machines. As fantastic as the images that return may be, they have as much emotional impact as really well produced video games. The reason the photos from the Moon have such emotional resonance is that it was man that planted the flag. We were actually there, humankind, bouncing around in low gravity.
These images are meant to feel artificial.

The had to call a time out and could have forfeited if they hadn't been able to improvise a repair. The F.I.R.S.T. (For Inspiration and Recognition in Science and Technology) Robotics competition 2009 Peachtree Regional was held at the Gwinnett Center. More than 480 high school students from Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas competed in a game called LUNACY. Two teams of three students navigate their robots to collect and score balls in trailers attached to their opposing teams robots. Teams have been designing, building and programming autonomous and remote-control robots for six weeks and showcased their work at the tournament.
