Evening all.
The Metropolitan Police Act of 1829 provided London's first permanently appointed and paid constabulary ("Peelers", so named after the then Home Secretary, Sir Robert Peel), which became a model for police forces across the land. The police uniform of the day - blue tail-coats and top hats - was chosen carefully to inspire public confidence by giving constables an appearance of authority, while at the same time that of being "public servants". Intimidation was not an objective at that time - the policeman's only weaponry, a wooden truncheon, was carried concealed within his uniform.
The uniform of today's robocop departs from those founding 'principles' in every respect.
Mind how you go.

This office block features a half-dome to mirror that of the City Hall - I never knew that, did you?
Back in 2007 Frank McDonald, of the Irish Independent, suggested that the new building beside City Hall may be the most detested addition to Dublin and I must admit that I never met anyone that does not dislike it to a lesser or greater degree. Myself, I do not like it or the public space that surrounds it especially as it is beginning to look more and more like an advertising hoarding with the passing of time.
The area is now known as Barnardo Square and it is about ten years old. It was developed as part of the development of the adjacent office building, both of which were designed by the Spanish architecture firm MBM. Dublin City Council describes Barnardo Square as an open, level and paved space in Dame Street, featuring a DublinBike pick up point, several large granite seats and a large glass covered sculpture sunken into the paving. The café at City Hall has seating on the west side of the square during sunny weather.
The five-storey office block is adjacent to the well-known Sick and Indigent Roomkeepers' Society building on Palace Street, leading to Dublin Castle.
At the West side of the building there is an unattractive that leads down to the plaza from a doorway on the first floor. I can only assume that it is a fire escape but it looks like an afterthought.
Here's the link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ2cSxiOBqY I love this new trailer. I've seen all the old Robocop movies and I think this looks like a very good way to revive the franchize and make it fit inn with the modern world today! Leave your thoughts of the trailer in the comments below!
I always thought the Robocop, Terminator, Alien and Predator franchises could all coexist in the same universe, and apparently so did Dark Horse Comics as they loved to cross these four franchises over a lot. One I always wanted to see was this, Robocop Vs Predator. I always felt they were more evenly matched than people gave this crossover credit for. Sure the Predator would be faster, bt not stronger and Robo is more heavily armored and due to HIS ability to change spectrums for viewing, even using heat signatures, the Predator would have a hard time hiding from him.
I said to a fellow in Dallas, "if I were going to make a low-budget science fiction movie, I would film it in Dallas" (regarding the impressive variety of paleo-futuristic architecture) and he told me, much to my delight, that Robocop was filmed here.

Back when I did my Robocop I wasn't sure on the scale and this was one of the options. Finally took a picture of it...
