The reason I took the photo is that it reminded me immediately on Toronto infamous Mayor Rob Ford, a drunk, drug abuser, fool, simpleton; our scaled down Trump who served almost 4 years in top position of the city. He was finally striped of most of his powers in last few months of his term.

Councillor Rob Ford, whose tumultuous four years as mayor of Toronto turned him into an international cultural phenomenon, died on Tuesday, March 22nd at Mount Sinai Hospital, he was 46. His passing marks the end of a rare political actor whose everyman persona, budget-slashing agenda and very public substance-abuse issues inspired both intense loyalty and deep loathing among the city’s diverse electorate, it also ends an 18 month struggle with cancer. Mr. Ford had been diagnosed with pleomorphic liposarcoma, a rare form of soft-tissue cancer, in September of 2014 ....
April 15, 2011. Another recent tag by Kismet on the stairs up to the Railpath on the north side of Bloor St. The other one that I posted recently didn't last long, and I don't expect this one to either. The layers of paint are building up fast...

...."Ford Nation" is Mayor Rob Ford's core fiscal conservative support base, predominately located in a part of Toronto called Etobicoke. It appears that no matter what Ford does, whether its alcohol abuse, drug abuse, police investigations, or scandalous videos, as long as Rob Ford saves them money, they want him to stay in the mayor's office, his personal life is his own. Ford Nation will love Mayor Ford .... to death, his personal substance abuse issues are that dire, an absolutely unprecedented situation at Toronto's City Hall. ....Mayor Ford has not been criminally charged with anything & can only be removed from office by being found guilty in a criminal case or by the voters of Toronto. .... Robert Bruce "Rob" Ford (May 28, 1969 – March 22, 2016) was a Canadian politician and businessman who served as the 64th mayor of Toronto from 2010 to 2014. Prior to and after his term as mayor, Ford was a city councillor representing Ward 2 of Etobicoke North. He was first elected to Toronto City Council in the 2000 Toronto municipal election, and was re-elected to his council seat twice.
His political career, particularly his mayoralty, saw a number of personal and work-related controversies and legal proceedings. In 2013, he became embroiled in a substance abuse scandal, which was widely reported in the national and international media. Following his admission, Ford refused to resign, but City Council handed over certain mayoral powers and office staff to Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly for the remainder of Ford's term. Despite the scandal, Ford initially contested the next mayoral election, scheduled for October 2014, but after being hospitalized and diagnosed with an abdominal tumour in September 2014, Ford withdrew from the mayoral race and registered instead to run for his old city council seat. John Tory succeeded him as mayor on December 1, 2014, while Ford regained his former seat. Ford received treatment for the cancer, and was able to return to City Hall for a while, but died in March 2016 after chemotherapy was ineffective ....
.... Andy Warhol once stated "Everyone will be (world) famous for fifteen minutes" now that Rob Ford is essentially a "lame duck" mayor (his mayoral powers were largely stripped away by Toronto City Council) hopefully his fifteen minutes of "fame" are up....
Saw this on my trip to Toronto this weekend, the same weekend Rob Ford came back to office. I guess some Torontonians aren't happy about his return!
.... Mayor Rob Ford admits he was drinking alcohol, just two months after he swore he'd given up booze. Ford's confession came after a new video surfaced online that shows him slurring his words, swearing & bizarrely ranting in a heavy Jamaican accent. Mayor Ford publicly stated he had sworn off drinking after he admitted to smoking crack cocaine while in a "drunken stupor" ....

....Rob Ford can't seem to find the door, but a growing chorus of Torontonians want to show him the exit....unfortunately, municipal law in Toronto has no stipulation for the forced removal of a mayor from office, unless he or she was convicted & jailed for a criminal offense. Police have not charged Ford with anything....
Rob Ford (?) paste-up looking like some sort of monstrous character descending from the skies to wreak havoc on Toronto.
If it were not for our mayor there would be nothing to talk about.
How far reaching is our Toronto mayors plight? Let me know if you have heard of him. Thanks
SkyTrain contractors work as a MKII 100 car passes east on the north track. The track would alternate between east and west for the rest of the night as work would go on into the early morning.
.... In a twisted, perverse & sad way, Rob Ford has become Toronto's most successful comedy export, the world is getting lots of laughs at our city's expense ....

He's still there, our crack smoking, ranting, stupefied mayor.
.... Those who knew Rob Ford describe a man whose loyalty to family and friends was as "unshakeable" as the support he received from the "Ford Nation" segment of voters inspired by his "rough around the edges, ordinary guy persona".... Rob Ford, a man simultaneously adored by his fans and abhorred by his foes as his scandal packed term as mayor of Canada’s largest city propelled him to international infamy, has died. "During his political career, Rob Ford has been the subject of a number of personal and work-related controversies and legal proceedings, including a conflict of interest trial that nearly resulted in his being removed from office. In 2013, he became embroiled in a substance abuse scandal, which was widely reported in the national and international media. Ford initially denied the allegations, but after a 2013 Toronto Police Service gang investigation led to police discovering videos of Ford, he admitted to all of the incidents, including public drunkenness, drinking and driving, and illegal drug use. Ford admitted to smoking crack cocaine "probably in one of my drunken stupors" ~wikipedia.
On Thursday the Mayor of Toronto Rob Ford seen above called for a series of deputations from citizens regarding the report produced by KPMG about cuts to services in the city of Toronto. Mr. Ford was elected on a platform of no more gravy train, he would cut taxes but not services.
During Rush Hour, Yonge-Bloor Station. I discovered these mirrors and thought I could take advantage of them... And we all had to get off the train that went out of service at Bloor hence the large crowd.
I love large crowds somehow.
I thought by escaping to New York, I'd get a reprieve from the news about Toronto's (and Canada's) most infamous politician Mayor Rob Ford.
No such luck, he was all over the news in American media.

I took a number of shots of Rob Ford at the 2014 East York Canada Day parade, and wondered at the time why so many of them showed him in discomfort. I thought it was a post-rehab thing at the time, but his cancer diagnosis was announced about 10 weeks later. RIP
.... In the wake of his death, a book of condolences was set up at Toronto City Hall. The public was welcome to leave a message for the family, hundreds of city residents have visited city hall to sign the book of condolence that will be provided to Ford’s family ....
David Miller endorses Joe Pantalone. Rob Ford, Rocco Rossi and George Smitherman think that won't do much to help. Smitherman says a vote for Joe Pantalone is a vote for Rob Ford. I guess it will come down to Ford and Smitherman. I say anyone, but Rob Ford... but then again that's just me. It's too bad Adam Vaughan and Howard Moscoe aren't running. I'm not sure why I picked those two people, but there you go. I guess it's too bad Sarah Thompson dropped out of the race as well.
....The Toronto Sun .... a longtime Ford supporter & backer, is the last of Toronto's dailies to express dissatisfaction with the embattled mayor. The paper backed Rob Ford in his 2010 mayoral bid, highlighting his fiscal conservatism & supporting Ford through his long & lengthy controversies since becoming Toronto's mayor, no more....It must be noted however, Mayor Ford has not been charged with any criminal offence, the video has not been publicly seen & Ford refuses to resign....
I got this photo in an email. Not mine but so clever! Dance on Rob Ford but don't fall down drunk or 'crack' your head. Toronto mayor never looked so good.......,eh???
welcome to the new toronto, where violent, racist, homophobic drunks who lie about not being convicted criminals can be elected mayor based solely on meaningless catchphrases and the inherent bigotry of 350000+ voters. fittingly, the day started off with garbage all over the streets, a car accident and a miserable rainstorm.
moving on from the moment torontonians elected the worst mayor in living memory (yes, he'll be even worse than mel lastman), it's time to determine how to quickly unseat this malignant sack of garbage. simultaneously, we need to develop quality candidates and to work on ways to convince voters to abandon first-past-the-post elections so we don't wind up with these jerkoffs in office who don't get 50.1% of the vote or better.
