McCormick Creek State Park Campground was a very nice place to practice "Social Distancing" in our 2006 Roadtrek Popular 210.

We enjoyed the Christmas Holiday at McCormicks Creek State Park. We had the two days & nights to ourselves, of course :) This continues a tradition started in 2019, the beginning of Covid.
Rain and wind were expected. The second photo was 2 hours after the first.

No matter where you turn in Yellowstone, you're going to come across a bubbling pot of goo or two. The bubbling pots of goo in this shot are from Mammoth Hot Springs and no, I didn't overexpose the water. It looks like that because the hot water from the springs dissolves the limestone rock and deposits a white, chalky material on the surface. Pretty alien looking, huh?
There are lots more photos from Yosemite in my blog.
Not the largest cut redwood for sure, but a good for size comparison.
BTW; there is no "I" in this image ;-))

After a nice afternoon exploring, it was time to get back to our "home on wheels" (2006 Roadtrek) to make dinner.

Our new-to-us Roadtrek is a Model Popular 210. It is a fiberglass wide body coach with a kitchen with a small pull-out dining table, a small toilet room and room for two 35" beds. Plenty of water on board, and room for bathroom and kitchen waste. Has a propane furnace and an air conditioner. It is on a Chevrolet 3500 base with a big engine. Made in Canada.

An unexpected hulk of a thing, I suspect on tour rather than a local. However, it doesn't seem to cover any great distances year on year.
The old Chevy camper van is our "Magic Carpet". It takes us to places and spaces we can hardly imagine -- most times, not far from home. Each time we go, even to the same place, it is fresh and different. New birds come to visit us, squirrels tease us, we make new friends, we experience the weather very close up.

So Romantic! We even steamed up the windows :)

We were at Lieber State Recreational Area, SW of Indianapolia, Indiana. Weekday camping was wonderfully quiet with few people sharing the campground. Most sites are shaded and many offer limited privacy from nearby sites.

It seems like everywhere we go, our little motorhome has to be in the picture.
It was gorgeous in Yosemite last weekend. Rainbow waterfalls and a dramatic moonrise over Half Dome. Lots more shots in my blog. JUNE2014

This is our first time at Leiber State Recreation Area Campground. It is located near Cataract Falls and Cagles Mill Lake. The campground was probably very busy over the weekend but was nice and empty on Monday ! We've had plenty of rain and all is green or dark brown. There were some first signs of leaves turning color.
Our Roadtrek camper was right in its element. If it was painted green one wouldn't even notice it !
. . . . (notice how our van doesn't have a TV antennae? Who needs it when out in this scenery?)

Saturday Self-Challenge Bokeh in the Foreground
This was taken in our Roadtrek motorhome with the nasturtium sitting on a cutting board over the kitchen sink; reflectix blocks the window light; the camera was handheld so the bokeh could be part movement of the LED light bars.
The Dam at Coralville, Iowa, was built by the Army Corp of Engineers as a flood control project. The lake made by the dam is popular for boating and fishing. There is a small campground with beautiful sites!
Our Roadtrek Popular 210 fits perfectly. While it is just 21 feet, it has a potty with shower, two beds, microwave, air conditioner, fridge (with freezer), sink, propane stove, propane furnace and a DVD player & screen. When "shore power" isn't available, it has two deep cycle batteries. With modest living, we can go for 4 days without use of the onboard generator.

The beautiful lodge at McCormicks Creek State Park is the background for a photo of our Roadtrek camper van. It is a 2006 Popular 210. This means that it is 21 feet long. And has a microwave, 2-burner propane stove, wash sink, big fridge with freezer compartment, entertainment system, furnace, hot water heater, potty and compact shower. It carries plenty of fresh water and "black water" (toilet waste).
The camper is on a Cheverolet van, easy to find parts and service.

An addition to the garage allows on-site storage of a medium sized RV, boat, tractor or big pickup truck. The slope of the yard permitted a cut into the grade to lower the floor down to attain a door height of 9 foot 3 inches.
We were the only people in the whole campground at McCormicks Creek State Park on New Years Day! Just us, the birds and the little gray squirrels.

This jumper will connect the house and engine batteries together if that is ever needed. We don't leave it connected but it is there if needed. It's shown connected here for the photo but when not needed I'll put both alligator clips on the same point.
You don't want to leave it connected when you operate the starter as the wire might melt.
Update 2023: I should have checked the engine battery, realized it was going bad and replaced it however I did squeeze another 5 years out of it.
The small park and campground used to be a State Park. Somehow it got downgraded. The forest behind the van has the most amazing bicycle trails I have ever seen. With no bikes on the trails, I explored them for two days. The park includes the Muscatatuck River, the water that flows out of the National Muscatatuck Wildlife Refuge. At times, a great deal of water flows through the park!

Alan Dershowitz: “Foolish liberals who are trying to read the Second Amendment out of the Constitution by claiming it’s not an individual right or that it’s too much of a public safety hazard, don’t see the danger in the big picture. They’re courting disaster by encouraging others to use the same means to eliminate portions of the Constitution they don’t like.”
