I can't remember exactly what the rules state when neither vessel is under motor, but I believe the one with the pointy beak wins. Juvy Brown Pelican on Armand Bayou.
Picture right from the camera. No photoshop except for contrast and cropping.
Picture taken at midnight local time. I did some light painting on the bushes on the left, and a bit on the bridge.
The sky colour is light contamination from towns nearby
The main source of light creating the shadows on the bridge is the moonlight

Eyes right for all the birds - pink eared ducks, banded stilts and a single Eurasian coot! Taken at Greenhill Lake near Ararat in Victoria, Australia.
Amtrak 301 leads the 8 through Elk River, making good time. Finally got to see this unit in minimal haze on this morning, I was able to make it here with a minute to spare after seeing them at Sauk Rapids.
My only previous visit to Scaling Beck was drier than today and the falls were disappointing. Today I was luckier!
The afternoon sun has peaked through the pesky clouds, as Acela 2169 bypasses Metro-North's West Haven station on its way to Washington, D.C. The train departed Boston at 2pm and will arrive at its final destination in the capital city just before 9pm.

Sunsets
We wander through a foreign town
Strangely, there's nobody else around
So you open your dress and show me your tits
On the swing set at the old playground
And when you go away
I still see you
The sunlight on your face in my rearview
Sunsets
I wanna hear your voice
A love that nobody could destroy
Took photographs like Brautigan's book covers
That we both adored
And when you go away
I still see you
The sunlight on your face in my rearview
This always happens to me this way
Recurring visions of such sweet days
And when you go away
I still see you
The sunlight on your face in my rearview
When you go away
I still see you
The sunlight on your face in my rearview
Bearskin soldiers lining The Mall near Buckingham Palace on the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. (Excuse me if I don't comment for a few days. Catching up after a hectic week!)

I found this spot in september when hiking in the Calanques of Marseille. This is a point of view well known by locals and tourists, but I saw there was some potential for a sunrise. I just had to come back 3 months later, when the rising sun was perfectly aligned with this impressive creek.
It was also the perfect occasion for testing my new gear :)
The right-side image painted onto double gates at a business in White Rock, BC - complete with genuine dents and rust :-)
I took this picture in 2011, I'm not even sure if these paintings are still there.
We're off to Wales tomorrow for a few days to visit Phill's family, who live there. We haven't seen them for a couple of years due to my illness getting in the way. Whilst we are there the temperatures are due to drop by 10 degrees to the seasonal norm. It will be quite a shock to go from 25 degrees which it was on Wednesday down to 12!
