Gilbane was selected to provide construction management services for the new InterLink project alongside project manager PB Americas, Inc. and under the ownership of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation, with major funding through Federal Highway Administration and RIDOT. The new construction provides an innovative transportation hub for commuters traveling throughout the Northeast by plane, train and automobile at Rhode Island’s T.F. Green Airport. Terminal end improvements included a terminal addition providing connection to the fully enclosed, climate-controlled elevated walkway with moving sidewalks, known as the Skywalk, with an appearance that matches the existing terminal. Adjacent to the tracks, an 850 ft platform was built as part of the parking garage structure, providing accommodation for MBTA Commuter Rail customers. The airport was open 24/7 during this construction.
