My new Toy

Manfrotto 190pro Tripod

Manfrotto Joystick Head

Finally managed to get our old scanner working with Arch Linux (config file could not be read by the scanner group) and scanned some pictures I took with my grandfather's old Zorki 6. It is clearly visible here how bad the image quality of the scanner is. Especially on pictures with lots of black I could see how awful it was. So now I am going to try to photograph the photo's to see if that will give any better result.

In reality the photo has much better contrast and sharpness than you see here.

Anyway, this is a friend of mine photographed in the centre of Leeuwarden, near De Waag. You can see a red vertical line at the left, probably because I unintentionally exposed the film when removing it from the camera after use. I already opened the back before the film was completely rewinded.

Photo taken on normal ISO 200 colour film.

My Canon Color Demi- such a fun little camera. What is so unique about it is that it is a 35mm 1/2 frame rangefinder; meaning that you get 48 smaller photos on a roll of 24.

I'm still learning how to use it, I accidentally killed (exposed) my first roll of film from it- I forgot that I hadn't rewinded it. :P

Those photos were taken on a rewinded cinematografic Kodak film, ISO 15.

Asthe Pentax K1000 only goes down to ISO 20, I had to expose it this way. I was impressed with the result. Not only 37 pictures were developed from the roll, but the contrast and definition look very pretty!

This succession of shots was taken during our Saturday trip, We went to the Mardi Showcase in Serdang. Then to Banting where Amirul brought us to Pantai Morib and Jugra. I used my Nikon L35AF with a Superia 200 film but set the Camera ISO to 64, after taking the shots on my nikon I rewinded the film and reused the film on my supersampler to achieve the double-exposure effect on the pictures. The Layering is not photoshopped. I only use photoshop for cropping and setting the contrast

just got my film from the lab.... and it has tons of weird shit going on. I suspect I've already used this film and for some reason rewinded it...

filme mais estranho que eu já tive... tem umas duplas exposições que eu não sei de onde vêm haha

I had some technical difficulty with my film not advancing smoothly. I definitely did not want to open up my Pentax to see what the heck was wrong, so I bit the bullet and rewinded the film a couple of turns and then resumed shooting, knowing there would be some weirdness. I didn't expect a triple exposure though! Cool!

Temporary living for a temporary life.

( I thought you knew ) Temporary living.

Blanketed in bubble wrap, kept my heart in a doggie bag.

9 to 5 in the portolet, hold my zip-loc dreams while I styrofoam.

Opened up the mail-order wife with a plastic knife and she mp3'd.

She was beautiful, like one of them Real Dolls.

Laid down the terrycloth on the astro-turf.

Set up the paper plates, the inflatable dates, for a rewinded picnic.

Can't keep a love like this just anywhere.

Gotta keep a love like this in tupperware.

It's temporary living for a temporary life.

B/W rewinded Illford film ISO 400

a film that was rewinded and reloaded for a camera repair didn't work well on its way to the last shots. Got this crazy unintentional double exposure, thou.

Film.

I opened the camera back because I thought I had rewinded the film all the way. I actually ended up liking this a lot. :)

Other photos off this roll here.

today i watched beavis and butthead [twice] and rewinded and replayed this scene about 67 times. i can't get over how funny it is when beavis calls himself 'cornholio' and asks for TP for his bunghole.

best friend and i did a double exposure project- i shot a roll of film then rewinded it and gave him my camera to take pictures over mine. all SOOC. :3

this is my favorite from the roll, more to come later.

I shot this entire roll of film, the last two frames being of my friend Kira here to be used in a spy film we were making (never finished). I then thought I broke the camera and didn't use it for a while. Apparently I rewinded the film, but not all the way, and didn't take it out. I took the camera half a year later on a geology field trip and without realizing it was the same roll of film, shot the whole thing again. I then lost the roll, and despite several attempts to find it it just now resurfaced about a year later. Developed it to dissapointingly discover the double exposure, but fortunately some of the images are salvagable.

This shot , of the Number One Assassin, was going to be used by a gang leader to show the Number Two assassin what her target looks like. This is the only known photo of her, taken by one of her victims right before he died (though one wonders how he managed to frame it level, and why the Number 1 Assassin did not verify that the target had expired completely.)

We took these pictures and filmed her only scene (the final scene of the film) well before we were prepared to do the rest, because she was going away for the summer. Then, we never got around to doing the rest. Wouldn't have been able to, anyway, since I lost this roll of film containing a key plot device.

Taken with a Canon A-1 and generic C-41 Kodak black & white film.

From the R/C glory days when I rewinded this motor to make it more powerful. It was a beast! A Hyperion 4035-560 (same as HK II). Resulting wind was slightly faster also, about 590 kv. Used it initally on a Henseleit TDR helicopter. Still have it with me to remind me of this great time.

I shot the whole film and didn't rewind it. Later, I saw something astonishing and knew I had to get a new roll. So I opened the camera and the film was not rewinded! This was one of the last shots. It was nothing (thus, the title: "it was nothing" in portuguese) but these bushes up ahead. The uncontrolled exposure created this double color effect that looks really nice to me!

See vito in the middle? i rewinded the film back a little so i could maybe get a double exposure out of a frame. i guessed completely, seeing how i have a manual film camera (olympus om 1).

.......hm.. i just rewinded the film and took one more shot.

A friend of mine from Wauconda, he loves the tape recorder so. We record the clip clop sounds of our imaginary horses as we ride them to the car.

I forgot to press the film rewind button on the bottom of my camera, opening it to find my film rewinded into the wrong side of my camera...so this picture was one of the lucky few that were saved.

I had to burn the top and dodge the bottom but the center was fine.

In this case the dandelions and the waterfall merge to form something that's kind of interesting, I guess.

Taken with a Canon A-1.

The steel curtain (between D and CZ) gently rewinded.

1. start rewinding the film

2. open the camera under the false impression that the film has been rewinded completely (nope,

Chuck Test- just jammed)

3. ???

4. profit

What a classic ride on Waibaidu Bridge (外白渡橋), time rewinded.

Day 22

Hi Folks!!!

Time is running, my group is shooting and doing it pretty well. But as usual there are some back sides, when I cant say that we are doing it pretty well all the time.

I would like to speak a bit about the problems we faced. I cannot say that some of us are more prefect then others. We all do some mistakes and let me describe some of them.

DIRECTOR/PRODUCER

Let me introduce myself, as I am sharing to roles of director and producer at the same time. I have thought before that film-making is such a difficult process. And what i did, is made a lot of mistakes. As we know the producer should organize all the members of the crew. I was trying to do this, BUT… Sometimes I forgot to tell people beforehand that we are going to shoot. Not really like this, but i told them too late, so they didn't have any time to prepare. Moreover, I was too bossy sometimes. This is too difficult to control, as you become nervous, because of the big responsibility for the movie. But still I should have remembered all the time that we are all human-being and i had no writes to become angry with someone. But after we discussed my problems with my crew and I started paying much more attention to the whole team, not just to me or Kate.

OPERATORS

In my opinion, both Kate and Tinya are really talented persons in using camera. Also they help a lot in the process of organizing. Guys filmed a lot of nice scenes but there were few problems we faced during the shooting process. And now I would like you to look at the picture of our main actress Tisha at the top.

What can you see? It looks like we were using iphone or blackberry to shoot this scene. NO FOCUS! We were discussing the focus for few minutes, but still decided to shoot in this way. THE RESULT? We are re-shooting it on Saturday. Furthermore, we all the time forget to check the horisont line. Yes, I know that we can edit it in Final Cut Pro, but do we need to do it, if can make it perfect from the beginning?

However, we are all the beginners in this industry, and it would be weird if didn't have any problems. But these problems made us think a lot what should we do in advance we start doing it. The failed class scene taught us to organize everything, before start shooting. We should have a plan with camera`s positions, should know the right order of scenes, should check sound and lightening twice, should control the tape is rewinded, etc. But this is a good life school for us and for our future works in a group.

See you soon,

Yours

Stories of two worlds - at different times of my life.

Once I shot a provia 400 in my fisheye, it was around march 2007. I've never found this film! I really thought I jhad lost it. More than one year after, in Dublin, I shot one of my provias and, for my surprise, that was the film.

I should have left a part of the film out when I rewinded and then I confused with the other ones.

Some of the photos matched so well!!
