Ok... I can't get a moon shot right to save my life. There, I admit it.
Moving right along.... the rewards to running in the dark are many. One morning last week, I got to see the moon rise, and it was fabulous and then later in the week, I saw this sliver of a moon at night. If I hadn't been running, I would have missed it because there is no way I would have been out there. (The real thing looked far more impressive than this photo.)
Other good things about running in the dark....
The night sky. Stars. Say no more! it's awesome!
You can wear pajamas if you want! I haven't yet, but I have thought about it. There's no one else out there... no one can see you. No one cares anyway, but my pajamas are warm...it could happen.
There's no one else around so you never have to interrupt your run to talk to someone...or even worse.... give directions. UGh.
It's quiet and it smells good.... fireplaces are going in the evening.
I get to use my favorite flashlight. (Flashlights are also one of my favorite things. I have no explanation for this.)
No one can see the pained expression on my face. Afterall, I never said I'm enjoying this. I still hate running.
But I think I'm getting better. And Dayna sends me encouraging text messages because she can't believe I'm still doing this either. So, that makes it all worthwhile. Kind of.
This may all be history when I get up tomorrow and it's 10F with a subzero windchill. I can hardly wait.
Winter paddling has it share of challenges - water so cold it drips off paddles like syrup, sudden weather changes, and so forth. But the rewards can be incredible. This day on Cultus Lake, we were the only boats on the lake for the entire 4 hours we were out. The light was interesting, and the mist hanging on the mountain slopes was pretty lovely.
the best part of going barefoot is seeing just how dirty can you get the bottom of your feet.I only wish I could do this every day

When I was keeping my certifications current as a Lotus Notes/Domino Administrator and Developer (two different certs) I would reward myself when I passed a certification test. Always a marble or a kaleidoscope. If I were testing now it would be a lens, I think - not sure. I still love marbles and kaleidoscopes.
Wrapping this in foil, with a ton of garlic, potatoes, veggies, herbs, and butter.
Can’t forget the butter.

I was sitting in my wife's flower bed hoping to get a photo of a humming bird feeding on the flowers. This was too good to be true as this hummer landed on the stem of one of the flowers and began licking the underside of the flower. It was very hot so I think it was resting as it drank. Picture taken with a Canon 50D with a 100-400 L I/S zoom lens.

Sean is the third and final person from Mission S&R who agreed to meet with me.
This meeting took place on a sheer rock bluff 30 meters (90 feet) above the valley floor. Of all his training and experience he enjoys rope work the best:
"I love the challenges it brings; there are a lot of technical aspects to rope rescue."
And on serving the community for 13+ years:
"Each successful search and rescue is a very rewarding experience; it's a mix of interpersonal, technical and physical skills. The bond it creates among our team members is second to none."

Before they went bankrupt, Younkers would give out these $20 rewards cards if you spent more than $200 in store or online. Sadly, they became only for nostalgic value in April of 2018.

This is a Winn-Dixie Customer Rewards Card I had during the time Winn-Dixie itself was still in my neck of the woods (which are the mountains of eastern Kentucky). I recently came across this while doing a little cleaning one day, and immediately thought of all the times I used this at the Hazard, KY Winn-Dixie (now United Grocery Outlet) in order to get some great deals. I originally thought about throwing it away, but decided to keep it and add it to my little retail memorabilia collection instead. It also makes me wish that Winn-Dixie was still around here...it was a pleasure to shop at!

Hello Flickr fans! Excited for my Los Angeles Landscape gallery show in December! Taking a break from finishing the HDR landscapes and finishing some goddesses for my 45surf surfline instead. :) The gallery artist statement will begin with something like:
"In every photograph you can see both where the photographer was standing and what they were thinking. So it is that this collection tells the story of my epic journey as no words ever could. And more importantly, I hope that it serves to guide and inspire you along a hero's journey of your own making, owning all the glorious rewards of the risks of your own taking." --Johnny Ranger McCoy

After working all day in the yard -- weeding and planting and moving plants about -- I sat down with my husband and some friends to share a drink and watch the birds play.
Weekends always go by so fast!
I received a set of three two-sided mini posters of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, from Disney Movie Rewards on February 17, 2016. They feature a group shot of all the main characters, and closeups of Rey, Leia, Han, Finn and Kylo. They measure 19" H x 13" W, and are nicely printed on stiff poster paper. They were shipped flat, and arrived in perfect condition. Here are my photos of the posters. They are still available from the DMR site for 650 points.
I have been building up Sony Rewards credit card for years since I got my first SLR from them. I just cashed my points in again for a free Sony A57. It arrived yesterday just in time to shoot the first bluebonnets to flower. There are going to be lots more bluebonnets posted. Tons came up this year.

We took my 9 year old Niece on the walk, the biggest one she has done yet (6 miles), and with only a few moans on the way, she was extremely happy to be greeted with this view at the top.
The view goes on for miles, but prominent on the right is Tryfan, which will be our next walk.
