I am silver and exact. I have no preconceptions.
Whatever I see I swallow immediately
Just as it is, unmisted by love or dislike.
I am not cruel, only truthful ‚
The eye of a little god, four-cornered.
Most of the time I meditate on the opposite wall.
It is pink, with speckles. I have looked at it so long
I think it is part of my heart. But it flickers.
Faces and darkness separate us over and over.
Now I am a lake. A woman bends over me,
Searching my reaches for what she really is.
Then she turns to those liars, the candles or the moon.
I see her back, and reflect it faithfully.
She rewards me with tears and an agitation of hands.
I am important to her. She comes and goes.
Each morning it is her face that replaces the darkness.
In me she has drowned a young girl, and in me an old woman
Rises toward her day after day, like a terrible fish.

As Queensland recently had good rain I decided to head out in search of waterfalls. I ended up walking the Albert River Circuit in the Lamington National Park which turned out to be a 26.8km hike, but these views are the reward of a big effort.

Insomnia...Woke up at four am....decided to suffer a bit for My art...sucked down some coffee..headed east to the causeway for some predawn shots and the beach for some sunrise shots....was worth it ...I'll sleep tomorrow!!!
During the celebration it is traditional the go to door to door shouting "Who causes so much joy?" The house owner replies "the imacculate conception of Mary" and rewards you with a gift. These range from small sweets to bags of rice. The event takes a philanthropic guise with the wealthier houses providing more expensive and practical gifts.

What better time to get together with family and friends than for a 1st Birthday. After eating my lunch plate, it was then time to pull out the 5D and go trolling for captures. First stop ... the dessert table!!!!
A story from Lands of Classic Castle.
“Sir Caelan Munro, Duke Cartney will see you now.” The clerk nodded at the young knight for him to come in to the duke’s study. The duke was the senior leader of Durrough and his study showed it. The spacious room was elaborately decorated, with the duke’s heraldry prominently displayed on the fireplace mantle. On the polished wooden floor was a bright blue and yellow embroidered rug, a now well-known gift from leaders in Garheim which they called an “Alliance Rug”.
“Well Caelan, welcome home from the war,” the duke began as he snatched up an enticing sealed envelope from his desk and rose to meet him. The duke was known as a bit of a fop, generally overdressed for every occasion, but he had a firm handshake. This was their first meeting, Caelan being fairly unknown prior to the war, but the duke lived up to all the rumors--tall, thin, overly-groomed and clean, but a respected and highly capable leader nonetheless. “You’ve done a bit with these archers of yours haven’t you? Scout Snipers, you call them, yes?”
“Yes sir, they’re all deadly shots to the man.”
“So I’ve heard. Your reports stated you inflicted over one hundred casualties on the Loreesi, including some war elephants amazingly…”
Caelan immediately thought of Flannery and his tree-crunching, elephant-smashing tactic. “Three of them, sir.”
“Most remarkable. And you held on to Mitah’s tower despite a full assault by Fazeel’s bunch too. Tell me, how many casualties did you take?”
“Twelve sir. Three will recover and fight again, but three probably will never draw bow again and…” he thought of the men he would never see once more and stopped mid-sentence, growing somber over the loss.
“And six died for their country,” Cartney finished his sentence. “No decent Lenfald commander enjoys that part but we must accept what we cannot change. How many effectives do you have now?”
“Twenty-six, sir.” The feeling of regret continued within him, as he had started the war with thirty-eight, plus his friend Tavish.
“And have you dismissed them yet?”
Caelan suddenly went from a deep feeling of regret, to one of great alarm. “Uh..sir no, I had hoped…”
Duke Cartney interrupted in a correcting tone, “Now Caelan you must know that only Barons and above can have standing forces in Lenfald during peacetime, yes?”
Caelan’s heart sank like a stone. All that training, fighting and his mens' sacrifice…
“So,” Cartney suddenly changed his tone, “we must correct this infraction of the rules.” He handed the envelope to Caelan stating with satisfaction, “From High Lord Triphian himself.”
Caelan broke the seal and read quickly. His heart suddenly shot back into place again. “A baroncy!!” he exclaimed before he could prevent his emotions from rising.
“Congratulations Baron Munro. And there’s more.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a note, “Give this to Durrough’s exchequer.”
Caelan did a double-take at the sum. “1000 draken!”
Cartney smiled, “Not for you of course. The baroncy’s all you need to woo that Lady of yours, Kensie I believe her name is yes...no, it’s for you to raise, train and maintain one hundred Scout Snipers as soon as possible.”
His head swimming, Caelan blinked and the meaning came clear. “You believe this peace won’t last.”
Cartney smiled a joyless smile. “This peace is about as stable as a one-legged man hopping a tight rope across the Aines River. And I am certain we will soon need lots of young men who are dead shots, to the man.” He nodded, walked back to his desk and waived over his shoulder, “Congratulations again Caelan, now off to the exchequer with you.”
That apparently was the end of their meeting, but as Caelan turned to go a thought stopped him and he asked the duke, now with his back to him, “Sir, how could you possibly know of my interest in Lady Kensie?”
The duke gave him a clever look and stated, “You are not the only one with scouts, young Caelan.” And he waved him away.

The crashing waves and ferocious wind and this spectacular vista was from the resort's beach. The wind and waves are mellowed by the shape of the lagoon and you could swim in the ocean every day even during a red flag. The structure is a real Mayan temple, the reward for getting up before sunrise and getting to the beach.
To find the universal elements enough,
to find the air and water exhilerating;
to be refreshed by a morning walk or
an evening saunter... to be thrilled by
the stars at night; to be elated over a
bird's nest or a wildflower in Spring -
these are some of the rewards of the
simple life

Harvest season is upon us now, though it was still a little ways out when I visited the DREI a few weeks ago. The fields have once again gone gold, signifying an incoming increase in rail traffic as they're harvested, which also means a hell of a lot more work for the employees on the DREI. I'm sure it's a "fun" time over there at this time of year.
You know, Watcos scheme is a little on the controversial side - and for good reason, it's boring as hell and uninspired. Really most of these corporate schemes are, but I never see praise for Watco, which is fair. I'll give them one thing though, they at least picked a nice shade of yellow. It pairs nicely with the fields around this time of year. Especially if you only look at the front...
Just east of Tuscola, Decatur & Eastern Illinois Railroads 101 job puts down some power after slow going through Tuscola. A healthy combo of being in the middle of town and the former owners of the line, CSX, having let the track condition diminish creates a bit of a rollercoaster of speeds in the area, and on the railroad as a whole. Slow through the UP/CN-IC/DREI diamond and town, fast east of town, and slowing once they reach the nearby town of Camargo - it's quite the adventure following 101 and its ups and downs!

To reach the shore of this fantastic mountain lake on the Lofoten islands was a real scramble through dense forest, steep slopes and large boulders. But the reward was huge with this peaceful Autumn lake just after sunrise...
There are times as a transvestite that I really wish I could pass myself off as an actual female, in fact I dream of having the looks and ability to achieve a convincing illusion of being a woman. I acknowledge that despite harbouring the desire to do this I simply don't have what it takes to ever succeed in with this aspiration.
Despite my obvious failures to look and behave like a woman I still have a wonderful time on each occasion I indulge in my love of male to female cross-dressing. It is always a thrill and I feel incredibly happy engaging in gender illusion and imagining I am a woman. It's a powerful emotional experience that I know I have a need to experience, I simply cannot resist the inner urge within me to dress and attempt to look female.
This photo taken in early June captures me in a rather joyous moment of delight. I fail to look female but I truly enjoyed being outside dressed as one and loved having the make-up on my face and wearing the wig. My dream will remain elusive but the inner delight of actually doing this for real is rewarding and as ever for me, very exciting.
I experienced an increase in confidence by wearing make-up, I enjoyed having a female hair style and I was euphoric to be wearing a dress and high heels having had my legs waxed the previous day. To feel the soft summer breeze caressing my smooth hairless legs and the hem of my dress while catching the scent of the perfume I had dabbed on and the glimpses of my painted nails, the feel of the feminine fabrics and delight of my feet being in high heels which are uncomfortable but so fabulously feminine, yes indeed, I just love being a transvestite!
Being outside in the garden is the furthest I will ever venture while cross-dressed as I know I will never pass publicly as this picture shows all too clearly, it is very obvious I am a man dressed up as a woman so I need to be realistic about my abilities. I love cross-dressing but I also know where to draw the line with my limited skills and physicality.
I do receive compliments on my appearance and I'm grateful people are so nice to me as their words are encouraging but I know in reality I don't really look like a woman and no matter how hard I try I never will, that's just how it is.
This obvious limitation in my skills and physical abilities does not diminish the fun and joy I gain from cross-dressing, I still adore my time as Helene. I'm am sure I am not alone in recognising one's limitations but knowing one can still enjoy themselves despite this and gain fulfilment from the act of attempting to look like a woman, it is a amazing thing to do and as I mentioned earlier, I love it :-)
Tomatoes, Peppers, Garlic & Herbs - my favourite summer flavours - fresh from the garden. What's your favourite - homegrown or from the farmers market? Edit - that tiny jalapeno on the board - hottest yet... I'm thinking it cross pollinated with another hot variety - Hot Thai Chili's have started producing...
No it's not 'Air Miles'...it's just plain old Mother-Nature to many...but for me, she's the grandest bearer of the most Amazing creations ! Having your own flower gardens does take time & work but the 'Benefits & Rewards' far surpass the efforts ! Watching them grow from beginning to end....nurturing them along the way with some necessary poking, pruning & weeding...then being there to visually catch them at their best moments ! One of the best parts of summer is strolling through my gardens often trowel in one hand & camera in the other ! By having your own Lilies the odds of opportunity to photograph them at their best is 10 out of 10...& a true pleasure & feast for the eyes, meanwhile helping Mother-Nature with spreading her beauty & providing food for her little creatures !~ (Pesticide Free of course !)
This is just one of my many Asiatic varieties...her 1st day coming into bloom~ (mid July)

When I left this for the gym this morning there was no light,
On the way home it was quite bright.
From my backyard I was given this gift,
So obviously my camera I did lift.
This is evidence that God is great,
A wonderful sky... thanks to my best mate!

One of my greatest rewards as I have spent so much time in Guyana over the years are the friendships I've made. Often times, these relationships start as I work with particular guides or captains in the field, but quickly develop into strong, lifelong friendships. I share with them as much knowledge as I have garnered over the years, and the knowledge I've gained in return is immeasurable.
So satisfying to harvest my own veggies at home. Garlic was a success, so I'll have to plant a lot more this fall for next year. I planted potatoes in bags again, seeding Chieftain, Warba and Yukon Gold varieties early in spring. All harvested July 28, 2019.
