The Royal Hospital Haslar was founded in 1753 and was designed and built by Theodore Jacobsen between 1946-1961. When it was constructed it was both the largest hospital and brick built building in England. Britain's first Naval Hospital which span a huge area on the coastline of Gosport is also the site of a massive unmarked grave site with an estimated 7,785 buried sailors...

fun fact: this is probably one of the most reblogged photos on tumblr. like, for real. (analogue photo of same place)

At the Forsakar parking area is small zoo with a couple of very incongruous Emus. After a while I got this one close enough to make a shot at 24mm.

This is a complete remaster of a shot I originally published 11 years ago (flic.kr/p/7QfKT6). A lot of improvements have happened in both software and my skills since then!

Tamblingan Lake, Bali - Indonesia

A revisit to a scene I visited a few years back. Glad to see its intact. Autumn colour in this area of Hardcastle Crags was excellent as its predominantly beech tree's here.

A revisit to a favourite location for a quick wander before heading back down the M6 to home. For the briefest of moments the light got interesting

Another revisit, this time to the old lone oak near Helvetia that I've visited many times, but not for at least 3 years. It looks to be doing as well as ever. Removed power lines/tower from background.

This is just one of those places you can't stay away from. I visit it all year 'round. But winter is always my favorite time.

Revisit of an old shoot. I find it fun and interesting to go back occasionally to see how what can be done.

Balcombe Ouse Valley Viaduct. Desinged by John Urpeth Rastrick for the London & Brighton Railway, Architect David Morcatta. Comprises 37 Arches and completed in 1842.

CN 149 rolling through Salem (mile 246.3). Would really like to revisit this location in the summer.

It's that time of year when the Dalmatian pelicans are at their best and many a company have their photo trips in full swing. Seeing images posted on Facebook I thought I should revisit my hard drive again and add some more to this wintery album.

I am in the process of revisiting much of my archived images that were done in HDR to process them with improved knowledge and processing knowledge... I do not think that they convey the drama that can be created by the HDR process but have a certain mood and freshness to them...

See below for the original crude HDR ( i was still learning)

I spent the past weekend in Marshall County, Kansas. After visiting the Surprise School at sunrise I stopped at the Danish Lutheran Church and Cemetery. The church building was used from 1879 until 1955. Although no longer in use it is very well maintained. Digital infrared black and white image made with a --converted Pentax *ist DS on 7-4-2014.

A shot I took a few years ago but now retaken with the amazing 645Z.

Last photo in Sao Miguel, returning to the iconic Miradouro da Boca do Inferno for the sunset, long after the park was closed :| At least I was not the only one “trespassing” :)

Early October 2024 and a revisit to Worcestershire to photograph Kingfishers. Weather was dull and cloudy.

A different Kingfisher turned up and was more skilled in catching fish.

The Common Kingfisher is a small bird with unmistakable plumage. Its back is bright metallic blue and its breast is a coppery-brown. The beak is long and black, though females have a red patch at the base.

When we were at Joshua Tree National Park, my wife wanted to revisit this penguin rock and juniper tree. So we did. This time around, I composed the shot with more sky for the clouds. I 'm not sure if I like it but I have also taken another tight shot with my medium format film camera. But for sure, I really like this place. It 's such a work of art from Nature. Both my wife and I really love Joshua Tree for its natural sculptures and serenity.
