DB class 001 Pacific No.001 088-4 drifts down grade for its station stop at Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg early on a misty morning, 3 June 1972, heading semi fast E 1622 Hof (06:40) to Dortmund. The Pacific would take it as far as Bamberg (arr. 08:26) where the train would have reversed and taken forward probably by a V200 class diesel-hydraulic, and electric traction from Würzburg.

This narrow passage on the Gorge Inlet Waterway in Victoria BC features a "Reversing Falls" effect. As the tide recedes, water pours out at high speed. When the tide rises, the falls reverse and water floods into the inlet at a similarly breakneck pace.
Shortly after taking this photo, the tide equalized and I was able to row my little boat under the bridge. On the way back, it was flooding, and I was mostly "sucked through" - ending up in a whirlpool for a moment on the other side. A fun ride!
Flies can be tricky to shoot this close, often they'll take off if you get within a foot, but occasionally one will cooperate.
Shot with a 24mm reversed onto extension tubes. The flash is on a hinged hot shoe that leans the flash out over the lens stack. A DIY snoot with diffusion fires the light in front of the lens.

WEEK 33 – Columbus Kmart Closing, Set 6
Now that we’re on the way out of the store, it’s about time I finally tell the story of my attempted fixture purchase from here. I think I mentioned on my first stour from here that, if and when (okay, just “when” XD ) this Kmart would close, I wouldn’t mind trying to get my hands on the store's directory, which you’ll recall I was utterly fascinated by. On this visit, lo and behold, the fixture had a sale sticker on it and was priced for $50; a little much, but I’d learned by then that that’s probably a reasonable (or at least typical) price, so I was ready to jump on it. Our friendly cashier at the register did me the favor of getting the store manager, who was in charge of the fixture sale at this location, and he proceeded to walk over to the customer service desk to ring us up.
On our way over, just to clarify 100 percent that the directory would be coming along with the fixture – since that’s what I wanted, more so than the fixture itself, of course – I asked the manager just that. And to my disappointment, his originally cheery attitude faltered and then turned sour, and he said no. (cont.)

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)

I visited the museum Panorama Mesdag, where the summer exhibition 'Moving Space' shows an overview of the work of the British artist Patrick Hughes (Birmingham, 1939).
Hughes is a surrealist, creating familiar scenes that are deceptively simple, but always contain a twist to make you wonder and smile. Like the painting 'Shadow of a rainbow' on the right.
He also crafts 3-dimensional paintings, where front and back are reversed. Mind boggling and different from each point of view. An example of this kind of work, so-called reverspectives, can be seen in the other hall.
As an hommage to Patrick Hughes, I have applied another small reverse perspective to this picture.

Bear with me, this is quite the story,
When I had received word that Amtrak Midwest's new venture cars were making their wolverine debut on Tuesday, May 24th, 2022, I wanted to make sure to get a good shot of them. Unfortunately, the train they first came in on, Amtrak 350, arrives at Pontiac before school is over, and it was finals week for seniors, so I had to miss that. However, Amtrak 355 is 350's counterpart (when it comes to the consist). What I didn't know was that 350 got into Pontiac late due to various reasons (from what I've heard, there were problems with the cars...uh oh...). However it still wasn't late enough to for me make it from school, so I gave my broski Sonny (who's a photographer) a call asking if he wanted to go see it on 355.
We met up at a pretty cool place, Charing Cross, and we waited, and waited, and waited. About 30-40 minutes after it was supposed to pass, the headlight finally became visible where we were standing (the abandoned platform at the old SEMTA/GTW station). However, it took nearly 15 minutes for the train to get there. As it got closer, I noticed that the marker lights were lit on the lead engine, and also it was going VERY SLOW (15 miles per hour when they normally go 60 miles per hour through there), which at that moment I put two and two together and realized this was a reverse move.
The conductor on the train was running it from the headend (he gave us some horn taps and a wave). The actual engineer was on the rear gave us a light show...? I dunno, still pretty cool though!
This is the reverse view of an earlier photo taken at the exact opposite end of the year (28 December).
The tiny Fairmile Road, single track with grass growing down the middle, was once one of the UK's main Roman roads, laid through the Lune Gorge by Agricola in 79CE to link Ribchester (~85 km away by modern roads), near Preston, to Carlisle. It evolved into Wicker Street, the main western route from Manchester to Carlisle and hence Hadrian's Wall. As I mentioned in the previous image's caption, I hope the signposted cattle grid didn't cause the Legions too much trouble. It's now part of the 'Pennine Cycleway' (Route 68 of the National Cycle Network), though I can't say I've ever encountered a cyclist here.
The sunlit ridge on the left of the background is the foot of Birk Knott, on the other side of the Lune; the artificial cliff below the trees is the side of the A685 main road from Kendal to Tebay, and the pylons of the electrified West Coast Main Line railway are visible, but the M6 motorway and the River Lune itself are hidden from this angle.
The hill behind the sign forms the northern side of Borrowdale (not the better-known Borrowdale at the heart of the Lake District) is Casterfell Hill (367 m) on Roundthwaite Common. Jeffrey's Mount, at 378 m smaller but more prominent overlooking the Lune Gorge (aka 'Lune Gap'), is just off the right of the image.
