I love this view and it has a lot going on. The two people in red add scale, cedars growing on the cliffs, trees jammed in the canyon and there's a rainbow!

You can’t beat this iconic location for a sunrise or sunset shoot. The colours that project onto the lighthouse and the sky during sunset are amazing.

Combine that with the partial eclipse blood moon and it makes for a nice night out.

Now this is my kind of snowflake! I'm so tempted to call this one my favourite, something I have never said before. The large center, thick branches and great balance made me very excited to discover and shoot this snowflake! Please do yourself a favourite and view fullscreen.

This snowflake fell yesterday, and was the best specimen in a very beautiful snowfall. Sometimes the conditions are perfect for colour, size or unusual shapes... but this crystal had a great mix of everything. I think the large almost featureless center gives the right contrast to the detailed branches - it's great to discover such beauty manufactured by the universe at large!

The center has an interesting feature - circles and rings radiating outwards. Actually, these rings are working their way inward as the central hexagon continues to grow inward from its outer edge. Looks can be deceiving here, as the rings also appear to be building up to a plateau. In actuality, the center is further depressed into the snowflake than the edges. The rings are forming on the reverse side of the crystal, which means the ridges will catch the light on the inner boundary of the ice and reflect it back as if they were protruding. Snowflakes are full of optical illusions!

You'll also see a fair amount of colour in the branches, caused by prisms created in the snowflake that refract light into a rainbow. Some of this colour is also caused by chromatic aberration, but I try to limit that source of colour as best as I can in post processing.

So what do you think, is this snowflake a contender as a favourite in your eyes? :) Also, if you haven't checked out my book Sky Crystals, I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you like this image: www.skycrystals.ca/ - 304pg hardcover.

my good friend and his girl are opening up a new space, I was fortunate enough to take the oppurtunity to throw down on this cutty painted brick wall. I had alot of fun and laughs with the crew painting this one, and some how managed to use white in all aspects of my piece(3D, fill, outline ect.) on a white background. show up then blow up!

Juxtaposition is always fun to catch.

Live to Love ♥

As I always say, I'm a collector and AFOL first, a customizer second. And today was a fun day to be a collector. I finally got one of these bad boys, Christo's Reverse Flash (Professor Zoom, not sure which is appropriate here). Gotta say, I'm impressed by the way he did the boots and the helmet looks pretty cool. I was a little surprised though how loose it was on his head. While it isn't one of my favorite figs from Christo, The simplicity of the design, the way the boots stand out on the legs are great, along with the custom helmet, make it worth while. Just took a long time to get..

So overall review:

Good:

- Boot printing with the wings on the side!

- Simplistic but effective design, with the slight darker yellow muscle outlines

- Custom helmet

- Face fits the helmet perfectly, hard to do with custom pieces!

Bad

- Very expensive...that's why it took so long to get

- Helmet is a bit loose. It still stays on when you carry it, but comes off VERY easily. (though, I've been told by many in the comments below that it is not the norm for this piece)

Other than that, it's a great fig to get of a character that is not present in the LEGO world.

Thanks to Mike (ryffranck029), appreciate it! Plus, that was a fast shipment from Canada!

This was shot the same day as the aerial shot in my prior post. It's kind of a reverse angle from a rooftop on Fifth Avenue. You can actually see the rooftop patio of the building in the prior shot.
