The endless summer - this is Australia.
This also pretty well describes the Blackwood Falcon, first launched in XD form in 1979. The Blackwood reused the Falcon/Fairmont platform developed for 1966 by Ford USA.
The XD of 1979 became the XE of 1982, and XF of 1984. The 'too big' Falcon arriving at the end of the 1970s fuel crises was nonetheless the 'right size' for the Australian market going into the 1980s, outselling the smaller GM-H Commodore.
Thoughts were that the Falcon in this guise was still too big and too ineffiicient, with a plan to replace the Blackwood with a FWD Mazda-basd product. As the sales grew, a olan developed to re-skin the platform once more for 1988 for the EA Falcon, now dressed in much more contempory 'aero' skin, but still fundamentally the same mechanically, with a slightly smaller 3.9L capacity 6-cylinder inline engine.
The 'ute' (coupe-utility in US parlance) and Panel-van shown here were not part of the update plan, but as sales remained strong (in the absence of a direct Holden competitor) the bodystyle continued, migrating with minor trim updates to XG nomenclature. Ultimately the XH version, which received a modified EL Falcon headlamp and bumper, but still retaining the original Blackwood Falcon bodywork aft of the A-pillar, ending its days at age 18 in 1997, with the release of the much more significantly updated Falcon platform nuderpinning the AU.
Happy Australia Day 2025
I though it would be expedient to get reusable shopping bags. These sturdy, cheap, roomy, waterproof bags from Ikea are great.

Dan told me "I figured this would last a day or two; I put this on last December and it's still in good shape."
Costco acrylic pickle jars (yellow lids) make great storage bins. And since we like the pickles, its like the jars are a bonus at the end!

What better way to sell the most delicious sunflower oil on the planet than from a used coke bottle?

I use chica and jo tutorial to do 24 bags for my daughter's birthday. I use denim pants that I dessemble.
An accessory I made from a black pillow case that Rudy chewed a hole in. It helps shorten the time for heating in the solar oven and is just the right size to fit a tortilla for warming up. I never got around to painting my jars black for use in the solar oven so now I can use any jar and a small one works quite well. I just don't tighten the lid down so steam can escape.
SOLD!
Ruby shops at Goodwill (like, who doesn't?!) and then reuses the bags (we have a particular fondness for blue and white designs). This Goodwill bag says Reuse Recycle (what, no Reduce?!)
Around 1050, the kingdom of Strathclyde was conquered by the increasingly powerful Scots. King David I founded a new diocese in Glasgow in 1114, and the old church at Govan was gradually abandoned. As for the Britons themselves: “They were no longer Cumbri but had become ‘Scots’ like their new political masters. Inevitably, as time wore on, the deeds of their forefathers began to fade from memory. Soon only the sculptured stones remained, a handful of monuments scattered across the land, to bear mute witness to a forgotten people.” (Tim Clarkson)
I used some vintage upholstery fabric from my fabric stash and made a cute reusable bag. I want to make more of these from the piles of fabric I have sitting in my studio.

A project for my Love The Earth class. We slipped peices of paper into the sleeves and dry erase boards. Old socks, different papers, and markers fit nicely inside.
Blue Diamond Growers (BDG) is the largest almond cooperative, producing over 80 percent of the world’s almond supply. The company has been headquartered in Sacramento since 1910. Construction has started in three existing buildings on the downtown campus, in effort to provide for staff and changes in working environments. Several amenities are being incorporated into the design to accommodate rapidly changing technology and the need for more versatile spaces. The new renovations also provide improvements to life safety and seismic resistance in each of the buildings.
Diamond ‘G’ Coffee Building
Two-story brick, Diamond ‘G’ Coffee, is an existing building on the BDG campus that used to be a coffee roasting plant. The design for this quaint little building is clean and simple, as not to detract from the beautiful brick walls and exposed beams inside, with design elements paying homage to almond orchards in the Spring. The renovations will meet the diverse needs of the Campus Operations Department.
Main Office Building
In this iconic Art Deco-style building, we completely reworked the first and second floor plans and room layouts, created much more open office space with adjacent break out/touchdown rooms and created larger conference rooms, with fewer private offices to make space for their new staff in several different departments. Parts of this building had recently been updated with new finishes and glazing systems at the conference and meeting rooms. The finishes selected and applied during the last renovation provided our inspiration for executive-style spaces. Additionally, we added a new café/breakroom and multiple coffee bars and lounge spaces throughout. New finishes include paint, carpet, LVT (luxury vinyl tile), casework, quartz counters, and restroom finishes. Custom art for privacy glass, and other collaborative spaces was also included.
Blue Diamond Building
At the front entrance to the BDG Headquarters is the historic brick Blue Diamond Building. It is the largest office building on campus and currently houses the Nut & Gift Shop and several administrative offices where the Information Technology department is making the first floor of this building their new home. The new look for the space is open and bright, with bold colors, and an overall modern, tech design aesthetic. New spaces were created to accommodate the different ways in which people work include hoteling stations, lounges and an open office environment.
