It all started with an idea of using the lego stearing wheel as landing gear, preferably retractable. As I couldn't use the same technique for a front wheel, I opted for a non-retractable rear wheel, which as far as I know is more common on propeller planes.

The car featured both retracting headlights and a set of fixed main lights behind plexi-glass covers. There were hardly any bumpers, to keep the shape pure and clean and the lights got damaged easily in careless parking accidents, because the car was so incredibly low (a bit over a meter in height at the top of the roof).

Gear fully retracted. Notice the gear doors do not sit flush with the wing. This is apparently by design.
Today someone at work mentioned that they liked the designs but they wanted to hook their badge retractor to the chain. Here's a sample showing how you can clip the lobster-claw fasteners to a ring (I used a large split ring, like you'd see for a key-chain) and then clip your company logo-imprinted retractor to the ring.
