Treaty People Walk for Water - Stop Line 3
Minnesota - August, 2021
Starting at the Mississippi headwaters and ending 256 miles and 18 days later at the Minnesota State Capital, the Treaty People Walk for Water calls on Governor Walz to honor the treaties, respect indigenous sovereignty and revoke the permits for the Line 3 tar sands pipeline for the health of the planet and future generations.

Respect Life Sunday marks the 42nd anniversary of the Respect Life educational program in the Diocese of Saginaw. The program was started by the Catholic bishops of the U.S. in October 1972. The Respect Life Mass allows an opportunity for the Church to focus on life issues.

Socializar ha sido una de las más importantes tareas de la humanidad. Buscar un grupo, estar en él, permanecer y poder preservar la especie es una de las pruebas de supervivencia más importantes de esto que llamamos vida. En la actualidad, se sorprende uno con todo lo que las redes sociales de Internet dicen ofrecer. En myspace, la gente habla de agregados y en facebook de amigos. Puede haber una diferencia, pero en términos prácticos, la vida es muy corta o muy larga para poder tener el millón de amigos de los que ha hablado Roberto Carlos en otras ocasiones.
La vida como acto sublime tiene ritos que vale la pena llevar a cabo para poder socializar y preservar. La discoteca, el baile, el cortejo y la fiesta son un conjunto de sensaciones que bien ayudan a sentir que alguien tenga un buen ánimo y pueda pasarla bien. Y en definitiva, es la música la que se encarga de ser un catalizador, ambientador, condensador o impulsador del momento. Los franceses, con todo lo hedonistas que son (el ser bon vivant está hecho un chip en el cerebro de ellos), han dado muestras interesantes de esa posibilidad de tener sonidos insignes para la pista de baile. El llamado French Touch, hizo de las suyas a finales de los noventa y comienzos de este milenio.
Siendo así, un compilado como Paris is Sleeping, Respect is Burning es toda una invitación al jolgorio. Creado a partir de temas de artistas como Catalan FC, Bob Sinclar, Dimitri from Paris, Motorbass, Etienne de Crecy y otros, nos hizo escuchar el hedonismo rampante con buenos temas de house. Mientras París dormía, las noches Respect del club Queen estaban alegrando la vida de un puñado de personas que luego se encargaron de alegar el mundo y por ende, hacerlo un poco más vivible.

[This a series of 7 photos] St. John's Episcopal Church in Chase City, Virginia was established in 1766 and celebrated is 250th anniversary in 2016. I could not find the exact date of the church but assume its is circa 1888. This is one of several churches constructed for this congregation. In the 1970s the building underwent remodeling and structural expansion by J. Everette Fauber Jr. I don't know if the architectural style changed or not. It is, however, neoclassical--Colonial Revival presumably. The website of the Society of Architectural Historians provides very brief information.

The church is not large, though the wing at the rear makes it seem larger than it is. It is, overall, a pleasing building with its classical features, the front façade displaying symmetry. The front gable roof with returns with dentils in the eaves is an extension of a slightly larger gable. A prominent oval vent has pointed ends at top and bottom. The entrance suggest a Georgian doorway, approached by open brick steps and metal railings attached to the building. The top part mimics the front gable with its returns. It is framed by fluted pilasters and ornamented with a semi-circular fanlight. Wooden double-leaf doors provide entrance, each with two recessed panels. To either side are wall sconces with transparent top and bottom portions. To me, the bell tower is the most interesting aspect of the structure. The ogee roof is metallic with a sharp looking finial. It's supported by keystone arches and fluted columns, possibly of wood, with a metal strip at the top of each where the arches begin. A metal band is below the columns below which is a wood base (possibly) with a pattern, giving the appearance of brick.

Dalam bahasa Indonesia, kata ini sudah lama dibakukan dan ditulis dengan kata “respek”.
Setiap seremoni suatu pertandingan selalu disematkan kata “respek” di tengah-tengah kedua belah tim untuk dapat bermain dengan perasaan tersebut melebihi sportivitas. Respek tidak hanya terjadi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, melainkan juga dalam permainan bola maupun olah raga lainnya. Tapi tidak semua bisa berjalan seperti arti respek tersebut. Masih banyak hal di luar jalur respek yang terjadi baik di lapangan maupun di luar lapangan dengan sikap yang anarkis.

Community Day 2011, San Francisco: LS&Co employees crafted a mixed media interactive art installation on behalf of GiveRespect.org, philanthropic partner of Dockers. In support of the RESPECT! Campaign, we all signed the handmade recycled khaki patchwork RESPECT! pledge quilt to take a stand for healthy relationships - and create futures without violence.

Up to 10,000 motorbikes are taking part in a ride through Oxfordshire from Dry Sandford to Carterton to pay respect to the brave Service men and women killed in Service and thank the towns for their care of our heroes and their families.
Now in its fifth year, the Ride of Respect 2014 is on Sunday 1 June from 9am to midday (approximately) and will raise vital funds for The Royal British Legion in support of our Armed Forces and their families.
