SAGINAW— On Sunday, Oct. 5, faithful gathered at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw, where the Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, celebrated the annual Respect Life Mass. Respect Life Sunday marks the 42nd anniversary of the Respect Life educational program in the Diocese of Saginaw. The program was started by the Catholic bishops of the U.S. in October 1972. The Respect Life Mass allows an opportunity for the Church to focus on life issues.

MRS. AGNES WILSON.

The death has occurred of a highly-respected resident of Heme Bay, Mrs. Agnes Wilson, the wife of Mr. Walter D. Wilson, well known in the iron trade and yachting circles. Mrs. Wilson had lived in the district for over 30 years, and had a wide circle of friends. The late Mrs. Wilson is survived by her husband, three sons, Messrs. Alex., Bert and Harry Wilson, and three daughters, Mrs. O. W. Hughes, Mrs. L. J. Cocks and Doreen, and seven grandchildren, all of Auckland, also a brother and sister, Mr. E. Walker and Miss A. Walker, both of Papakura.

MR W. D. WILSON

The death has occurred of Mr Walter David Wilson, aged 73, of Auckland. Born at Auckland. Mr Wilson founded the firm of W. Wilson, Ltd., blacksmiths, engineers and welders, 53 years ago and was managing director at the time of his death. He was an enthusiastic yachtsman, being owner of the yachts Heartsease, Thelma and others. He was a life member of the Ponsoriby Cruising Club, of which he was commodore from 1904 to 1914. Mr Wilson's wife died 12 years ago.
