I'm told that in Thailand, coloured ribbons are tied around old or tall trees (usually by the owners of the land) to protect the tree and show respect for the tree spirit. People often come to pray or make a wish here, and believe that their wish will come true if they ask the tree spirit. This picture was taken in Erawan National Park, Kanchanaburi.

SAGINAW— On Sunday, Oct. 5, faithful gathered at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw, where the Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, celebrated the annual Respect Life Mass. Respect Life Sunday marks the 42nd anniversary of the Respect Life educational program in the Diocese of Saginaw. The program was started by the Catholic bishops of the U.S. in October 1972. The Respect Life Mass allows an opportunity for the Church to focus on life issues.

Participation to the final event of the RESPECT+ project. The event is a conference with journalists, public administrators, politicians and roma activists coming from all Europe. During the event a volounteer made a brief speech explaining the aim and the contents of the ALL IN ONE campaign.

During this event, like the previous in the FNSI national office, we promoted romany culture through food catering and music.
