Well done, Eli! Well done, Wout!
December 27, Heusden-Zolder (Belgium) - GP Erik de Vlaeminck Cyclocross
Wout van Aert has won at Heusden-Zolder for the third year in a row. On the fast track, the 29-year-old rider from Team Jumbo-Visma took a convincing victory in the sixth round of the Superprestige classification. Eli Iserbyt and Joris Nieuwenhuis completed the stage. It was the second victory in five races for the former world champion.
Van Aert, who became cyclo-cross world champion in Heusden-Zolder in 2016, quickly established himself in the lead group on the Terlaemen circuit. The Flemish rider accelerated with three laps to go. Only Eli Iserbyt could follow and the battle between the two continued until the final lap. In the last technical section, van Aert used a blistering acceleration to cross the line solo.(bikeraceinfo)

The Rev. William Rutkowski, Vicar General for the Diocese of Saginaw, celebrated Respect Life Sunday, Oct. 5, at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw. The event marks the 42nd anniversary of the Respect Life educational program in the Diocese of Saginaw, which was started by the Catholic bishops of the U.S. in October 1972. The Respect Life Mass allows an opportunity for the Church to focus on life issues.

David Franz is a Northridge graduate, who is a well-respected physician, a published author in medical journals and textbooks, and a featured speaker at hospitals, clinics, and in-service workshops.
David was born in Dayton in 1959. From first grade to graduation, he attended Northridge schools, beginning at Morrison, then the Middle School, and graduating from NHS in 1977. At NHS, Dave was president of Key Club, on the staffs of WGXM radio station and the Berry Patch literary magazine, and a member of the marching band and the National Honor Society.
Earning a B.A. degree from Earlham College in 1981, Dave followed with an M.D. degree from the Ohio State College of Medicine. He spent his residency at Wright State University, followed by a fellowship at Dayton Children's Hospital. He is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology in the Department of Neurology at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati.
David comes by his medical talents honestly, since both of his parents, John and Martha Franz, are doctors. His parents still reside in Northridge.
Dr. Franz said:
I feel that Northridge was the ideal place for me to grow up. I was able to meet a variety of people with many backgrounds,VALUES, and goals. I had many superb teachers and friends who helped me learn, not merely academic knowledge, but how to listen, live with, and better understand other people. I don't think I am any different than any of my classmates, fundamentally. I was lucky to have parents and a family who encouraged me to explore and try out whatever I thought I wanted to do. I have also had many opportunities to learn and try new things with many mentors and role models. These people are the reason that I have accomplished whatever I have, not anything special in me.
From day one I could not comprehend
Was it us, was it me or was it them?
Friends will come and go as it seems
And now I have no shoulder on which to lean
Still I do not understand
You break your back for something
Well where's the fans?
Show me-respect
And I'll
Show me-show you right back
I see the boys that I once called my friends
They'll fake a smile and then they'll shake your hand
When will this ever end?
I look around at my brothers
My only true friends
Show me-respect
And I'll
Show me-show you right back
You got a lot to learn my friend
You've got a lot to learn about respect

Nuneaton Air Cadets showed their gratitude and respect to the service men and women of the British Forces when they braved the rain as they took part in the Bulkington Armed Forces Day Parade.
The Bulkington parade was led by Pipes and Drums and included a large Army contingent from nearby Gamecock Barracks. The colourful Parade of Royal British Legion, ex-service Association and Cadet Standards, veterans and youth organisations marched through the flag lined streets of the North Warwickshire village as it made its way to the open air Drumhead Service on the green outside St James Church.
The Vicar of Bulkington, the Rev Paul Messam, led the service during which the Union Flag and the standard of the Bulkington Branch of the Royal British Legion were draped over the traditional makeshift Drumhead alter.
Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks Officer Commanding 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron said, “We have attended the Bulkington Armed Forces Day parade for the last nine years and we have always had good weather until today. Having said that the people of Bulkington turned out to see the parade and the rain didn’t manage to dampen the spirits of those on parade”.
“I would like to extend enormous thanks to those cadets and staff who turned out to support this very special event in such inclement conditions”
