Some resin necklaces that I'm putting into my etsy shop. They are filled with polymer clay fruit cane slices, sprinkles, and micro beads.

These are my first pieces of resin! I'm planning to make many more for rings, blythe pull charms, eye chips!, necklaces, etc

This was my first piece of resin. A steep learning curve.

I've been refining my eye making technique ^_^

There's a new guide on my website-

Doll Leaves normal resin vs the same formula with a one year difference. Betty on the left has mellowed to a very slightly more creamy yellow than Lan on the right.

Oval trinket box that I made. All cast in resin. I made the master patterns in MDF (lid) and cherry wood box. I then took silicone rubber moulds and cast both parts in white resin. The base is then stained with cellulose wood stain and lacquered. The lid is laser engraved, stained then lacquered in high gloss lacquer

Someone asked for a comparison to Dollzone White. My DZ boys are both pretty old but it still works

I know Resinsoul and Bobobie are the same company, but it was more to show how the WS matures - the RS is from July 2011 while the Bobobie is at least 2 years older.

This longleaf pine tree has been home to red-cockaded woodpeckers. The woodpeckers pierce the tree so resin covers the trunk as a protection from rat snakes and other predators.

I’ve always been curious about resin casting heads, especially since I have such an affinity for Allan heads but always felt guilty about ruining a vintage doll.

So with a bit of birthday money I finally ponied up the moolah for pouring silicon and made my first silicon mold for Allan.

This was my first time working with resin so while I got two perfect casts, I ended up making a lot of junk heads.

One is completely solid as it was my first test head but the other I intentionally only filled it ¾ of the way so it had no back and I could modify it to fit an action figure body.

Of course I’m just test fitting it here until my new body comes in the mail. but I’m pretty excited at the new possibilities of Allan dolls now.

Of course though, I’m still heavily pro artist for ball jointed dolls, it’s just vintage Allan dolls are a finite amount and no amount of begging Mattel for an affordable repro will ever happen, plus I’m definitely never gonna try profiting off these casts, I just wanna do more customization on a cute sculpt.

Megachile sp. probably M. oblonga

Family: Megachilidae

Order: Hymenoptera

This seems to be a female as males have a more rounded abdomen.

This species is easily confused with other members of the genus. In this case, the antennae are not flattened to form a disc so that tends to eliminate M. ferox which has a similar appearance. I am advised that the shape of the abdomen favours an ID of M. oblonga rather than M. erythropyga or M. ferox.

As always, I would welcome any advice if I have this wrong!

The resin bees get their name because they build their nests from resin in small holes or crevices. Some species mix chewed leaves in with the resin when they seal the entrance.

The second of these two photos shows how very well the bees pollinate these Purple Fan Flowers, Scaevola. The bee is transferring pollen from the back of the thorax onto the stigma of the flower.

each step involved in making these is done by hand, from forming the organic styled shapes, creating the mold and then pouring and embedding the bit of nature in resin. i love collecting little bits to use in them - shells, tiny leaves and flowers, broken coral, gum nuts and seedpods...

Got this shot of the first Diggler resins from Monstre Hero. These casts look great.
