Panoramic image of the old Residence of Munich, right in the city center and only minutes before sunset.

This residence is under the same roofline as the adjacent service station, so I presume it was for the owner or operator of the petrol station so they could live on site and serve petrol after hours. The service station is now closed down but is located on what was the Hume Hwy linking Melbourne and Sydney. The highway now bypasses most towns along the way, but in its heyday, this petrol station would have been a very busy place.

Kadriorg Palace (Estonian: Kadrioru loss, German: Schloss Katharinental) is a Petrine Baroque palace built for Catherine I of Russia by Peter the Great in Tallinn, Estonia.

Both the Estonian and the German name for the palace means "Catherine's valley".

It was built after the Great Northern War for Nicola Michetti's designs by Gaetano Chiaveri and Mikhail Zemtsov.

The palace currently houses the Kadriorg Art Museum, a branch of the Art Museum of Estonia, displaying foreign art from the 16th to 20th centuries.

The KUMU branch of the museum, showing Estonian art from the 18th century onwards is located nearby in the park.

After the successful siege of Tallinn during the final phase of the Great Northern War in 1710 czar Peter the Great of Russia bought a small Dutch-style manor house at Lasnamäe for his wife Catherine. The house today is the result of a drastic renovation ordered by Nicholas I of Russia in 1827.

However, plans for a larger palace in the area soon developed and construction of a new palace, Kadriorg, was started on 25 July 1718.

Peter and Catherine visited the unfinished residence on several occasions, but after the emperor's death in 1725 Catherine showed no interest in the seaside property. The great hall with Catherine's initials and profuse stucco decor (attributed to Heinrich von Bergen) survives, while many other interiors have been altered.

The Boston–Edison Historic District is a historic neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan. It consists of over 900 homes built on four east/west streets: West Boston Boulevard, Chicago Boulevard, Longfellow Avenue, and Edison Avenue, stretching from Woodward Avenue on the east to Linwood Avenue on the west. The district was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1973 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Many prominent Detroit residents have lived in the neighborhood, including the great heavyweight boxing champion Joe Louis, Motown record label founder Berry Gordy, and Detroit Tigers owner Frank Navin, Detroit Tigers ballplayers Harry Heilmann, Dizzy Trout, Ty Cobb and (more recently) Willie Horton.

Spectacular mansions in this neighborhood were originally built for titans of the US Automobile industry, among other prominent businessmen: Walter O. Briggs, founder of Briggs Manufacturing, Charles T. Fisher, president of Fisher Body Corporation, Henry Ford (until 1914), and Sebastian Kresge, founder of SS Kresge Company.

Countess Ljubica's Residence

Countess Ljubica's Residence (Konak kneginje Ljubice) in Belgrade was built between 1829 and 1831 by Hadži-Nikola Živković, one of the first modern architects in Serbia. The residence was built on order by count Miloš Obrenović for his wife Ljubica and their sons Milan and Mihailo. It is to this day saved as the most representative city house from the first half of 19th century. Architecturally it contains oriental attributes, the so called Serbian-balkan style, but with elements of classicism decoration which announce the future influence from the west on domestic architecture in the first years of rebuilding the Serbian state.

Since the Prince of Serbia came to power the building was used as the lyceum, court of cassation, appellate court, art museum, church museum, house of the elderly, department for the protection of the monuments of culture of Serbia and nowadays it is the part of the Museum of Belgrade and is used as an exhibition space. Permanent exhibit includes original furniture made in oriental balkanic style and many other styles of that time (Classicism, Biedermeier and Neo-baroque).

With the whole island to themselves, the new settlers on Panarium could choose the location they wanted to call home.

Artemis Granger found a small sheltered hamlet just to the southeast of Wullham that looked good to him. He could see out off the headlands to the New Haven Sea, and if he climbed up the steep hill behind his house, he could see a mysterious interior mountain off in the distance.

A rainstorm was headed his way, so he took shelter in his whitewashed cottage.

Positano, Italy is a popular tourist destination known for its scenic views, beaches, and luxury, but it's also expensive and crowded:

Cost: Positano is the most expensive town on the Amalfi Coast. Shopping and parking can be expensive, and most houses don't have parking.

Endless staircases are still a way of life for the hardy locals. While Positano has 4,000 residents, an average of 12,000 tourists visit daily between Easter and October.
