This piece is the finished result of a painting activity in which a small section of the work was built upon (using collage) to create a scenic representation of 'landscape'. This scene depicts the choked, polluted skyline of Middlesbrough, with an industrial riot (inspired by the miner's strikes) in the foreground.

The University recently honored its 2017 cohort of Faculty Researchers of the Year, recognizing 12 faculty members for their accomplishments in the pursuit of new knowledge.
For five months from February to June 2018 members of our four oldest Youth Theatres have been researching and discovering group social activities undertaken by young people in the East End. Hands-on sessions have included trips to the Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archives, interactive sessions with community elders, interviewing older members of the community, and learning research, writing, interviewing and oral history skills.
UESTC Proposed Research Proposal Presentation Arrangements in november 2019 took place at INDEG on 18 and 19 of november 2019.

Inspired by textile artist Tilleke Schwarz. Students researched her for homework and were asked to illustrate information about themselves. Each answer was illustrated in 30 seconds, traced, overlapped and collaged together. It’s a shame they will be cutting them up but the results of the next task will be amazing!
Many CAFES students presented their research at the Fall Gala on December 3rd, 2013. Research ranged from making cheese and the use of high tunnels in growing crops to the effect of corn silage in the diets of dairy cows and a prototype of a hops thresher.

This is the painting that inspired me for my main piece. It was originally painted by Maria Spindler and named 'Man of Fire'
I love the effect of the hair the most.
Short 4 milie hike at the Patuxent Research Center in Beltsville. Much of the trails were off-limit and being New Year's eve the Center was closing early. We still got in nice hike and did some tree spotting.

Description of work: The Soares Planetarium has been open to the public since 1998, funded by the city of Porto and the Science and Development Foundation (Fundacao Ciencia and Desenvolvimento-FCD). Designed by the architect Jose Maneual Soares, the outstanding architectural feature is the curved region of the exterior. The spherical planetarium theater has been incorporated into the wall and interrupts an otherwise flat brick construction.

Understanding the changing media environment and its impact on our society and political climate is complex, requiring analysis from multiple viewpoints. On May 30-31 2014, a conference brought together scholars across fields including political economy, industrial organization, and economic theory to examine critical questions of how the media shapes our lives today.
