First off, let me state that i wouldn't consider myself rich; not sure that i would even want to be. i have written a bit about this previously so i won't go much into that aspect. i am comfortable enough, for me. Second point i would like to make is that i don't particularly like to carry loose change around with me, travel light and unjingly. In the older days of cash prominence, change would come back home with me but not typically make it back out of the house. It would sit in some type of collection vessel. Sometimes years. Then one day when the vessel was about to spill over or i was a bit short of the paper stuff i would undertake the task of sorting and rolling then cashing in. i really have no use for pennies. It still bewilders me that as a society we couldn't have come to some type of ruling that items for sale would have to be rounded to the nickel therefore eliminating the need for the penny altogether. It costs the government something like 2.5 cents to make a one cent penny. i don't believe many businesses would stay afloat using that ratio in manufacturing costs. But rounding up or down to the nickel would surely leave somebody somewhere feeling cheated. Which is what is i suppose the real point of all these words is about, greed.
Everyday we hear about deficit this or debt that. So prominent in the news today is the looming Fiscal Cliff (a created deadline brought about by the lack of culpability of our past elected officials) and how both sides won't budge on what they feel is unfair taking of their monies and entitlements. Why should i have to help them. How come they don't pay the same as us. To me it is sickening, as it simply boils down to pure greed. Listen to the news reports today, on all the top hype networks, and you will hear about the record Powerball jackpot that is hoped to be won tonight. People are spending simply ridiculous amounts of money for a 1 in 175,000,000 chance of winning. Something like $300,000,000 was spent in the past week. (yeah, i bought one. 1) Somebody put it as: take 175,000,000 pennies and place them in a line from coast to coast with one of them having an X drawn on it. Then drive to anywhere along the line, stop and turn one over. Black Friday sales figures are at record breaking levels, for the past four years. Something like a billion dollars was spent over the past weekend. All of that for necessities, i'm sure. With these amounts constantly thrown about, a penny seems like an absolute trivial trinket.
i have always been in the habit of viewing the change in my hand as i walk out of a store after having made a purchase. Any pennies that didn't stand out as being old or a key date would get tossed to the ground. i harken back to the days of being a little boy and finding a penny or two on the ground. What a thrill. My hope is that some child walking into the store with their parent would see my dropped pieces of copper and get the same thrill. Of course in this day and age the thrill has probably lost most of its luster. Give a kid a penny and watch the look they give you. But i still do it. Also of course, these days i typically don't deal with cash much more. How long before we become a completely cashless society? My point in all of this is if each person living in the world would give up one penny, it would equate to something like $70,000,000. Imagine if we could talk people into giving one dollar? First off let me say, Fargo is a LONG way from home! Mom says we are getting used to it for the special-t...but we will have to do it by ourselves. Fargo is cool because the first morning I woke up to lots of snow. Then we got to go to this building and play agility. Mom says I did real good because I got two 2nd place ribbons and a first place ribbon! She says I might have gotten another one if I didn't decide to give her the paw on the table, I don't know what the big deal was it was neat to look around up there, I had people to see! I got to stay in a hotel that had my very own big bed. Then we went in the car again and went to a house where there were three golden dogs, it was lots of fun to get to run with them. There was also a boy, and he was fun too. Lots of car time, but lots of fun too. I highly recommend a trip like this!

President Cyril Ramaphosa formally received the fifth and final Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Allegations of State Capture, Corruption, and Fraud in the Public Sector including Organs of State, during a handover ceremony held at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
The report is presented to the President by the Chief Justice and Commission Chairperson, Judge Raymond Zondo.

Report on Jaipur Trip
Jaipur, Rajasthan’s capital, is an enthralling historical city and the gateway to India’s most flamboyant State. The Modern School, Faridabad organised one night-two days trip to Jaipur for an educational and fun filled outing for children of Grades P4 – S2 on 21st and 22nd March 2017. After the final exams for the session 2016-2017, 34 Modernites and 5 teachers left the school at the break of the dawn on March 21th, 2017 for Jaipur. We travelled by bus during this trip. The retreat and beautiful ambience rekindled student’s interest and curiosity to a different level.After enjoying a lavish lunch at the hotel, the students visited Sanganer. The visit to handmade paper factory, blue pottery factory and block printing unit was a great learning experience for all. They also spent time at the factory outlet to buy small gifts for their family members.In the evening students visited Chokhi Dhani to enjoy Rajasthani folk music, dance and traditional Rajasthani food. Next day, the students were taken for sightseeing to ‘Amber Fort’ in Jaipur, where they saw various tunnels built for the protection. They also saw the glass room and various artifacts. After that, we also visited the City Palace and were amazed to see the wide variety of weapons, the royal dresses, vehicles used by the royal family and the grandeur of the palace.The tour concluded as the group reassembled at the hotel for lunch after which they departed for school where the parents were eagerly waiting to receive them. The warm family hugs, smiles on the faces of children, teachers and parents filled the air with joy and positivity. An experience with friends became a cherished journey and made the school days truly memorable.

These features were also expressed not only by the vibrant layout but also typographically by the usage of two typefaces: Neutraface Text by House Industries (Greek version by Cannibal fonts), that reflects this freshness, sharpness and accuracy while the research and documentation part of the magazine was expressed through Courier New by Monotype.

This Week in Bristol Indiana - 09-03-16 - Demolition of River Inn RestaurantBuilding. It was sad news for many in Bristol, Indiana to see the demolition of the River Inn Restaurant and Lounge this week on the corner of SR 120 east and Apollo St. Set above the beautiful St. Joseph River, the River Inn had been family owned and operated since 1995 by Bob & Patti Wojtysiak. Sold by the Wojtysiak family some years ago, it sat vacant for a while. The last restaurant to operate there was Danny K’s Smokehouse and Grill that opened in the spring of 2013, and closed in April of 2015. Unable to attract a new restaurant tenant, the property was sold to I.U. Goshen Health. It is reported that they are tearing down the building to construct a new healthcare facility, which will be a neighbor of the already existing Beacon Healthcare Facility. But it is the River Inn’s famous Polish buffet, Mother’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and even New’s Years’ Eve buffet special events, prepared by “River Bob,” that most people remember. It was truly a place for both Bristol residents and out-of-town diners to come with friends and relatives for a holiday gathering. Crowds often lined up outside to wait for their reservation times, because the restaurant was packed with diners. Who can forget the appearance of an great Elvis impersonator and other popular bands that appeared there. It was a Bristol landmark for a number of years that holds memories for many.
