En la Sede Institucional de la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria se ha presentado la XII edición del Encuentro de Repentistas “Verseando con Ingenio” organizada por Coros y Danzas de Ingenio y la Asociación de Verseadores Canarios "Ochosílabas", evento que reunirá en la mencionada villa y en los municipios de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa María de Guía y La Aldea de San Nicolás a verseadores, repentistas y trovadores de Argentina, Colombia y Canarias.

Pentimento. "Old paint on canvas, as it ages, sometimes becomes transparent. When that happens it is possible, in some pictures, to see the original lines: a tree will show through a woman's dress, a child makes way for a dog, a large boat is no longer on an open sea. That is called pentimento, because the painter 'repented,' changed his mind. Perhaps it would be as well to say that the old conception, replaced by a later choice, is a way of seeing and then seeing again. That is all I mean by [the photos in this album]. O Brancão pastava (pastava?) na terra seca. De repente toma uma atitude, parecendo pensar: - quem não tem água se banha com terra! (Ver fotos anterior e a foto seguinte).
Roçado do Mato é uma comunidade rural que está localizada no município de Boa Vista, microrregião do Cariri, no semiárido do estado da Paraíba. É o lugar onde o autor dessas fotos* nasceu, viveu sua infância e adolescência e, ao se aposentar tornou-se o proprietário deste sítio, após negociação com os familiares.
Também aí a Seca que já dura seis anos afetou as atividades agrícolas e pecuárias

The man in the scoot mobile is a well known figure in town. He shouts his monotonous religious messages at the shoppers, warning them to repent and not to indulge in the worldly goods the shops have to offer. He has a very loud voice. Shopkeepers can't stand him. He has been cautioned by the police and they even tried to ban him. Now has has also started feeding the pigeons.

De repente el diablo en forma de dragón aparece encima de Monte Tombe. Parece que desde allí va a hacerse fuerte para inundar el mundo de todo su mal. Pero de pronto, una luz inunda la oscuridad. El Arcángel San Miguel aparece, con su brillante armadura. El bien y el mal libran una épica batalla, pero el Arcángel termina expulsando al dragón. Entonces San Miguel le pide a Aubert, el Obispo de Avranches que construya un santuario en la isla del Monte Tombe. Cuenta la leyenda que el arcángel Miguel tuvo que aparecerse tres veces al obispo Aubert para que se decidiera a construirle en el siglo VIII un santuario en el lugar.
En 1897 el arquitecto Petitgrand, discípulo de Violet-Le-Duc, proyecta lo que será la silueta definitiva del monumento, agregándole, durante la restauración, una cubierta neogótica, en forma de flecha y culminando la estructura, 188 metros por encima del nivel del mar, la estatua en cobre dorado del arcángel San Miguel, obra del escultor Fremiet.
