"Repeating patterns"
The project that I have been working on for the last little while is to en-cage a machine so that people can't get to the moving parts while it is operating (you can see the white mixing blade through the mesh). This week I installed the expanded mesh panels.
I like how lines/rows form when viewed from various angles (the same thing happens with checker plate/grip tread steel plate) - I was very particular to make sure that the pattern carried across the join.
Repeating visual elements such as line, color, shape, texture, value or image tends to unify the total effect of the subject of focus as well as create rhythm.
Daily Shoot: Use repetition to create an interesting photograph today. Grids, patterns, or a series of lines will all do the trick.
I have no idea what this is. It was by the side of the road on Mount Royal near a tall crane which is being used to work on the television tower. I liked the repetition and it fit with the theme.
