Repeating the cash machine motif somewhat

I like this lens more and more everytime I use it!

The goal for this project was to photograph a leading line and repeating pattern. I did not have any difficulty with this project. I knew which location I wanted to shoot at ( the Calabasas Lake) and the angles I wanted to use. I made sure I went in the middle of the day so I could have the light levels I wanted. This project was a lot of fun and took me around 40 minutes and shot a total of 120 photos. Because I took so many photos, I was able to choose the one that I liked the most and apply it to my project.

The photo I chose for the leading line was my favorite of all the photos I took. I shot this photo at 12:35 am with a f-stop of 4 and a shutter speed of 1/1250. When taking this photo, I made sure to achieve a lower angle so the leading lines could be shown vanishing at the same point. When in photoshop, I adjusted the brightness, contrast, vibrance, curves, color balance, and added a cooling filter. These effects helped show the colors of the photo better while still keeping it a cool toned photo.

The photo I chose for the repeating patterns was the best example I could find of a pattern at the Calabasas Lake. This photo was taken at 12:39 with a f-stop of 7.1 and a shutter speed of 1/400. I made sure to take this photo at an angle to capture the repeating pattern as best as I could. To enhance the photo, I made some edits in photoshop. I adjusted the brightness and contrast of the image along with adding a cooling filter to match the green in the photo. These adjustments helped dim the green in the photo just a little so the shadows can been seen.

This project was a lot of fun to shoot. While I was at the lake taking photos, I was able to capture a couple more for practice that I really enjoyed taking. I had no difficulties with this project. I was able to find many examples of leading lines and repeating patterns. I also had no trouble adjusting the aperture and shutter speed and was able to find the right balance for the depth of field of each photo.

Re-Edit of a photo from my NYC trip nearly two years ago. This was from the night tour bus. I am literally leaning over backwards on the side of the bus to get this perspective. I loved the pattern of the windows and the dark and light windows that sort of break up that pattern at the same time.

Well it's official, my little man turned one this week! His Mima came to town to take him to the Denver Zoo on his special day where he got a snazzy button, a free ice cream cone, and a free carousel ride. It took a couple rounds before he got into the groove but by the fourth or fifth repeat he was sharing this million-dollar smile. :)

I took this picture because I thought it would be interesting to see someone repeated in a frame.

I took this by the side of my house.

I duplicated the layer of Erick and set it inside the frame. I did not change the color at all.

I can emphasize repetition through creating the repetition of a person in a frame.
