The SsangYong Korando appears to be the official rental car of Costa Rica. You see them lined up at the tourist spots. Presumably because it's all wheel drive and cheap. Adequate for a rental, but overall a fairly crude appliance.
This was our rental, a white Toyota Corolla Cross and I hate these crossover/ SUV kind of models but I was on holiday with my mom and dad and for them it is a little bit easier to get in and out of the car.
This thing was okay. I could connect to the media system with Android Auto which worked fine. Had plenty of cargo space and was reasonably roomy inside. Good view outside and good size side mirrors (handy in dense Dubai traffic). Aircon was manual?! It was a little under powered and it had a CVT. It was not hybrid and didn't feel turbo powered. I think it was a naturally aspirated 1.8 or 2 litre. It needed lots of revs to get going. Low torque down low in the revs. Suspension setup was 'comfortable'. Sound proofing was average.

The current rental car area for National, Hertz, Avis, Thrifty, and Dollar at San Diego Airport. This area will be vacated next week, when all rental car agencies at the airport will be consolidated into a central garage on the north side of the airfield, with shuttle service provided by the airport.
