Happy New Year to all my friends, both commenters and favouriters(is that a word!).
Well I have decided not to cut the strings yet so I have renewed for 3mths! It will give me a chance to think a bit more on what I want to do with my photos. In the past taking photos was not physically difficult but as time has shown me it gets harder as my strength seems to go. This makes it less fun and I really have to think about what I do. You might find I go no further than my garden so I hope you will like mostly flowers!
I could of course post photos from my hard drive that have not been seen previously!
Due to renewed technical problems with my internet provider, my Monday flower greeting won't arrive until Tuesday.
But there's a particularly beautiful view, as the setting sun has spread a net of golden light over the beautiful poppies and cornflowers on this rock. I love this effect in the backlight.

Auf Grund erneuter technischer Probleme bei meinem Internetprovider kommt mein mo(h)ntäglicher Blumengruß heute erst am Dienstag.
Dafür gibt es einen besonders schönen Anblick, denn die untergehende Sonne hat auf diesem Fels ein Netz aus goldenem Licht über die so wunderschönen Mohn und Kornblumen ausgebreitet. Ich liebe dieses Effekt im Gegenlicht.

Rio Grande GP40-2 No. 3103 leads a quartet of big Southern Pacific EMDs through Sutro Cut near Spanish Fork, Utah on Oct. 23, 1983. The Union Pacific had recently merged with the Missouri Pacific and Western Pacific, giving the D&RGW and SP a renewed freight hauling partnership that lasted until the SP merged with the UP in 1996.
Blue Heron at our wildlife refuge couldn't decide if he wanted to come out from the reeds...his head was in and out knowing he was scouting for food, tho decided to take it slow. Interesting to watch.

Thanks for your visits, greatly appreciated. Still recovering from a major fall...bones weren't broken the knee, ankle and foot tissue & ligaments massively bruised. Healing is a good thing happy to wake every morning with a renewed day ahead. Kinda feel like this bird coming out from shelter.

CN AC44C6M #3308 leads train 148 on February 17, 2023 through London Ontario at CN McLeod. 3308 is formerly GE C44-9W #2570, having been rebuilt last year at Wabtec in Fort Worth, TX as one of the first units in the new program at CN. The locomotives retain the nose light, however have lost the unique "teardrop" style cab windows. However, these units can still have their heritage easily identified by the slimmer radiator section at the rear. The goal of the program is to re-vitalize older locomotives that still feature direct current, and convert them to use alternating current.
The tail end of this train featured another object of interest, that being CN's newly acquired ex-WMSR nee-GN "Ocean View" dome car. The car currently resides in North Bay at the ONR shops for refurbishing.
