In the U.S. most tile jobs are done using "thinset" mortar over some sort of cement substrate. However, prior to about 1970 tiles were set into thickset mortar (usually 1 to 2 inches deep). This method is still used in the rest of the world.

I found that the best way to remove it was to work down a stud ripping apart the wire lath using a pry bar. This broke it down into manageable sizes.

Now that the roof is up and the framing is done, the extra supports are removed from the interior.

The last screw to be removed, I promise. This one is located towards the top. This scew and the five screws from the sides are all the same size, so you don't have to worry about mixing them up.

Jerry & I went to Palm Springs to get the staples removed from my back. There were 31 of them. My back feels MUCH better without them.
