Early works during April 2019 to remove the level crossing at Reservoir in Melbourne's northern suburbs where the rail line passes through the middle of a major intersection of High Street, Cheddar Road East and West, Broadway and Edwardes Street in the centre of the Reservoir shopping area.
The proposal at this site is to raise the line above the intersection using the 'Skyrail' design used by the Andrews Government in other locations around Melbourne - notably between Caulfield and Dandenong and for the South Morang to Mernda extension. A new station will be built on the viaduct but the tangled intersection of roads will remain beneath, albeit with an additional direct east-west connection between Broadway and Edwardes Street.
The line opened in 1889 as part of a longer line to Whittlesea with initial access to the city via the former Inner Circle line prior to a direct connection via Jolimont opening in 1901 and a direct link past the Inner Circle junction in 1904 which remains today as a sharp curve in the line near Rushall.
Electrification reached Reservoir in 1921 which was extended to Thomastown with the latter extension originally using wooden poles. Post War urban growth led to short extensions of the electric service to Lalor in 1959 and Epping in 1964. By then the railmotor service to Whittlesea had ceased with the line closed in November 1959 although the corridor remained intact. This has been used in more recent years to rebuilt the line as an electric service to South Morang in 2011 and Mernda in 2018 as urban sprawl heads north. Today the line is within 9km of the original Whittlesea terminus.
If I knew how to use the manual settings on this camera better (or if I had a better camera and knew how to use it's settings better) you'd be able to see the nVIDIA logo in the TIM.

A cornice is a mass of snow or ice that hangs over mountain ridges.
Removing the old acrylic Tudor brown paint and white trim left the house in its naked glory and revealed the quiet craftsmanship of a home hand built in 1949-50 with old growth western red cedar, a highly valued wood now and a classic cladding for Altadena cottages of the time.
We removed the inner lenses on this set, and packed in some awesome upgrades! The Turn Signals are now Sequential, with the stock reverse light housing changed to hold an Amber 194 bulb to fall in line with the sequential LEDs. The upper original Signal housing was upgraded to a very bright Cree LED Reverse Light.

Removing a grandstand made by scaffolding.
It was made for the alpine skiing World Cup in Stockholm, Sweden.
Wrexham & Shropshire can be made out in the paintwork as the decals are now being removed from all coaches.
I found it hard to remove the connectors from the main speedlite, so I went ahead and took off the front panel. Be careful when opening the front panel... wires going everywhere, attached to everything..tangly ol'e mess if your not careful!!

Deboxing Designer Snow White. She is removed from the inner box by undoing the tabs and wires holding the doll and stage to the inner box. Then the large plastic support is removed from her head and back, and remaining factory restraints removed from the doll's outfit.
I received my Disney Designer Collection Premiere Series Snow White Limited Edition Doll today. I had ordered her online at the release day, shortly after 12 AM in the morning of Saturday October 6, 2018. She is #1301 of 4100. She came in a shipper box that is approximately the same size as the LE 17 inch doll shippers. It original shipping label said GIRLS TOYS LE PR DSGN SNOW DOLL F18, and CART #: 01298. There was a small piece of masking tape stuck to the side of the box with the actual edition number (matching the CoA): 1301. Inside there was another corrugated cardboard box snugly fitting in the outer shipping box. Inside that was the actual doll box, which was covered with tissue paper, and fit snugly in the inner shipping box, with cardboard caps on the top and bottom of the doll box. The shipper box was undamaged in transit, as was the inner box and the doll box itself.
The doll box has folding panels in the front with magnetic closure, with a large design sketch of Snow White and the year 1937 in large numerals. In the background are photographers in silhouette snapping photos, and a red carpet. The back of the box has angled corners, making for a hexagonal shaped box. The sides and back of the box also has images of Snow White. The top of the box has a clear window with the title of the collection in gold lettering. Inside the front covers are replicas of the movie poster, invitation and tickets to the premiere of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Carthay Circle Theatre in Los Angeles, on December 21, 1937. The doll is behind a rectangular viewing window extending almost the full width and height of the box.
The inner box containing the doll and front viewing window can be slid out from the outer box. It is entirely enclosed, so can be displayed as is, without having to deal with the front covers either covering up the doll, or taking up space in front or to the sides of the inner box. The doll is on top a red carpet that has steps in front, and is flocked cardboard.
The doll herself is by far my favorite of the current Designer Premiere Series. I'm slightly biased because Snow White is my favorite Disney Princess, and am so happy that she turned out so well. I think her gown and accessories are very beautifully designed and produced. It also is very fitting for Snow White, and would be something she would wear to the premiere of her own movie.
I show her boxed, with the inner box removed from the outer box, and finally with the front viewing window removed from the inner box.
I will fully debox her tomorrow and post photos here when I do.
