This unit is not being manufactured and is not for sale, according to the company. Too bad, as it would be nice to have as a back up to my hand-held remote control unit for this pan/tilt setup.

Back from the acrobatic competition.

Compare the cab with the smashed cab in the previous series. This is after much cementing, filling, sanding and repainting! All of which, I am sure, will eventually be a waste of time after the next inevitable accident! I do have a couple of spare cabs now (and virtually every other mechanical spare part should I need it)!

In some of the pics you can see the tail still has a slight downward bend. I do have a complete replacement assembly which I will probably attached while I do a better repair on the original unit. If you think you can see tape across the canopy "glass", that's because you can. Two layers of clear parcel tape, in fact. This is to guard the canopy against cracking on those occasions when the balance bar strikes it - and that can occur either if you make too violent a control input; or you crash; or even when the onboard battery dies.

The most iconic sign of the times... remote controls!

From left to right... the remotes for my Wii console, Yamaha 5-disc CD player, Xfinity cable TV, the LG TV remote, and the newest member of the family... the remote to my Apple TV box (a Christmas present from my son and his girlfriend!), and the remote for my ONKYO stereo component system, Sony Blueray DVD player and another Wii console remote. And believe it or not, they all get used!

ANSH121: 11. Modern Times

Testing out a new lens. No flash & indoor with larger aperture

During our Christmas 2014 trip to Oklahoma, I lost my Canon RC-1 wireless remote, which I'd had for nine years and which worked with all my Canon DSLRs. So I replaced it with the Vello FreeWave Plus wireless remote control.

The RC-1 was a simple, one-button remote that used a watch battery. It used infrared and thus required line of sight to the front of the camera. Its range was limited to about 25 feet.

On the other hand, this Vello FreeWave unit uses radio frequencies, and therefore does not require line of sight and has a range of 100m. It can handle singe shot, multi-shot burst, bulb mode, and timer.

Pictured here is the transmitter unit, with an option switch (single shot, burst mode, bulb, and timer). The button is sensitive to "half-press" for focus confirmation or full press to release the shutter.

it began with Forbidden Foliage continued with the Incredible Interestingness of Power Supplies and Captivating Container Cupboards; it seems that the more determined we resolve ourselves to try and keep odin engaged in his "real" toys, the more determined he becomes in proving to us that those aren't really toys at all and are, in fact, boring artifacts that serve no purpose other than to occupy space and get in his way as he scrambles towards far more fascinating objects of his interest.

in addition to simply waving this toy and that toy in front of him and exclaiming "see! see! IT's A TOOOOOOOOY! fun!", we've also adopted the montessori technique of limiting the number of toys available by rotating sets of toys in and out of circulation. the theory being, i suppose, that he's not savvy enough to remember that the "new" toy is actually the same old toy that he played with a few weeks ago.

the results of an unofficial test of the efficacy of the ploy revealed that the "new" toys we unveiled today were able to deflect odin's attention from the remote control for exactly 32 seconds.

This planetary explorer (factory name: “PEX-1ML”) was designed as a mobile base (serving also as a laboratory and an observatory). It has all the necessary equipment to explore terrain of new planets. Its drivetrain and suspension was built to handle very rough terrain, while its body was constructed from materials that can withstand almost any weather conditions.

My friend gave me this as a project truck. I guess they're really popular and they are fun. I fixed the axle locker and drive belts. A fresh coat of paint and some LED's and we're almost climbing trees! Still need to find new rims & tires but runs like a champ now.
